Skoda Auto India has organized a month long comprehensive summer car check-up camp, starting from the 2nd of April, 2012. The summer check-up will be a 15-point complimentary check-up for all Skoda customers across the country. As part of the summer camp, areas like the AC, engine, electrical system, tyres, wheel rims and other such essential areas of the vehicle will be thoroughly examined. The check-up will ensure that long journeys undertaken by car owners during the upcoming summer vacation will be a memorable joyride, excluding the scope for any vehicular hiccups. The initiative further enforces ŠKODA Auto’s allegiance to its customers in India.

Sudhir Rao will become managing director of ŠKODA AUTO India Private Limited, effective March 1st , 2012. Born in India, Rao has extensive experience in the international automobile industry and is considered a profound expert on the Indian market.

The Volkswagen Group clocked a growth of 109.3% in sales from January to December 2011. The three brands – Audi, Škoda and Volkswagen together delivered a total of 1,11,623 vehicles to customers in 2011 as compared to 53,341 cars in 2010.

Škoda Auto India announced a growth of 20% for August ’11 over the same period last year. Škoda Auto India’s total sales for August’11 stood at 1812 units against 1512 units for August ’10.

Skoda India will launch the RS version of the Laura on the 31st of August. The Laura RS will be powered by 1.8-litre turbocharged petrol engine, which will produce 160bhp of power. This is the same engine which is used for the Laura petrol.

ŠkodaAuto India has organized a 'Pre-Monsoon Campaign' for its customers at all their dealerships across India from 15th June to 30th June (All states except Tamil Nadu) and 15th August to 31st August (For Tamil Nadu).

The Škoda Motorsport crew made their second appearance in the International Czech Republic Championship this season to dominate the event and comfortably achieve their second victory. Kopecký came top in Stage 3 and then just kept gradually increasing his lead until the end of the event. Although the crew have taken part in only two of the three Championship events that have taken place so far this season, they are second in the overall rankings.

Škoda Auto India announced a sales growth of 100% for May ’11 over the same period last year. Škoda Auto India’s total sales for May’11 stood at 2761 units against 1381 units for May ’10.

ŠkodaAuto India announced its  association as co-sponsors with the second edition of Mumbai Cyclothon - Tour de Mumbai I & II, 2011. ŠkodaAuto Cars will be a part of the convoy and be the safety and support cars at the cyclothon.

A total of 10 Fabia Super 2000 will be making an appearence at the Monte Carlo Rally. This is the opening event  of the 2011 Intercontinental Rally Challenge (IRC), in which Škoda is going to be defending its titles in both the Manufacturers and Drivers competitions.
