Mahindra & Mahindra sales grew by five per cent in the last month compared to the same period last year. The Indian auto major managed to sell 19,893 units in September, 2014 – about 1,000 units more than corresponding month last year.
Ford India sold 13,742 vehicles in September including domestic sales and exports. In comparison last year, September, they sold 14,217 vehicles. This drop in sales could be due to the lack of new products except the EcoSport in their portfolio.
Details of the Jaguar XE have been revealed ahead of its official launch at the 2014 Paris Motor Show. The XE was unveiled at a function in London last month but only in the S version. Now all the other trim levels have been revealed and will have a starting price of 26995 GBP (Rs 27.01 lakh).
Driven by the success of the Mobilio, Honda Cars India Ltd. (HCIL) has registered a remarkable 45 per cent jump in sales of passenger vehicles in India. The company sold 15,015 units of passenger vehicles in the last month as compared to 10,354 units it had managed in September 2013. The growth in April to September period stands at 47.9 per cent, as compared to the corresponding period, last year.
Hyundai India has registered a growth of 14.5 per cent in domestic sales, according to a statement released by the company. While in 2013 their numbers stood at 30,601 units sold in September, this year, for the same month, the company has achieved 35,041 units sold. It also sold more than the 33,750 units sold last month.
Maruti Suzuki has recalled 69,555 vehicles due to a potential faulty wiring issue, making it one of their biggest recalls in the country.
The Maruti Suzuki Ciaz will be launched for the Indian market on October 6 and ahead of what is undoubtedly one of the biggest launches of the year, the specifications and variants have been revealed. The car will be made available in six petrol, four diesel variants as well as seven colour options.

Maruti Suzuki’s new mid-size premium sedan, the Ciaz, will be launched in India on October 6. This car was unveiled at the Auto Expo in February this year and will be the SX4 replacement.
