Japanese car maker Toyota may be hopeful that its two manufacturing facilities in Bidadi, Karnataka can now start normal production. The state government, yesterday, had directed Toyota’s workers to resume work Monday onwards, failing which the company is authorised to employ new staff.

Lewis Hamilton took lights to flag victory at the 2014 Chinese Grand Prix. Remaining seemingly unchallenged right from free practice sessions on Friday he crossed the finish line ahead of his teammate Nico Rosberg allowing Mercedes to claim their third one-two finish of the season (so far). The Ferrari of Fernando Alonso took third place claiming the Scarlet team’s first podium of the season. While it rained quite heavily all of Saturday, the race on Sunday was held in dry conditions but with cloudy skies.
Audi has unveiled its TT off-road concept at the 2014 Beijing Motor Show. As the name suggests, it is based on the third generation of the German automaker’s quite successful sportscar which, it had hinted last year, would be expanded past the two-door model.
The 2015 Chevrolet Cruze has broken cover at the ongoing Beijing Auto Show in China. Developed by GM’s global R&D team, the new Cruze has been designed specifically for the Chinese Domestic Market (CDM). Audi Gurgaon has set up a new showroom at Orient Bestech Business Tower, Hero Honda Chowk, NH8, Gurgaon. Called Audi Approved: Plus, the new showroom will exclusively cater to pre-owned luxury car buyers and is spread over a 26, 000 sq. ft. area with room to display 33 cars. The showroom was inaugurated, yesterday, in the presence of Joe King, Head, Audi India and Rashy Todd, Managing Director, Audi Gurgaon (Zenica Cars India Private Limited).

In November, last year, the ministry of heavy industries had announced its intentions to roll out subsidies for electric vehicles by April 2014. Now, according to a report in the Financial Express, this plan might soon materialise, with the Centre planning to dish out subsidies ranging from Rs 8,000 up to Rs 12 lakh, under the National Electric Mobility Mission Plan.
