The Nissan Micra/ March is a cute hatchback and with its rounded curves and bug-eyed looks is one of the main faces of the Japanese automaker globally. Now to celebrate Rio de Janeiro hosting the 2016 Olympics, Nissan has brought out a commemorative edition of the B-segment hatchback and will unveil it at the 2014 Sao Paulo Motor Show which is slated to begin from tomorrow.
Renault has taken the covers off the Duster Oroch at the 2014 Sao Paulo Motor Show in Brazil. Conceived at the French automaker’s design centre in Sao Paulo, the Duster Oroch is a pick-up truck featuring a robust stance of an SUV. Sadly, it is still in concept form although Renault says it’s a concrete illustration of its strategy to develop products tailored to Latin American markets.
Hyundai Brazil has unveiled the HB20 R-Spec Concept at the ongoing Sao Paulo Motor Show. The concept car is developed in South Korea and the company plans to take feedback from the public. They aim to integrate the ideas they receive in to their future models.
The next generation Mahindra Scorpio has been launched for the Nepali market for 3.57 million NPR (Rs 22.21 lakh). This follows the launch of the car in India on September where it was priced at Rs 7.98 lakh (ex-showroom Mumbai). The all-new car is the most significant update for the SUV since 2006 and includes a host of changes both inside and outside.
The Mercedes-Benz GLA crossover has been launched in the Chinese market for 289,000 Yuan. It is an important vehicle for the German manufacturer in the Chinese market as it gives them access to the rapidly expanding crossover segment. The car is being imported into China at present but local production will begin at the Beijing-Benz plant in mid-2015.
On sale since May 2005, the Swift undoubtedly is one of Maruti Suzuki’s bestselling car models. The hatchback went on to become such a huge hit that Maruti didn’t make any major changes until 2011 when it introduced the next generation model. Now, the automaker has introduced an updated version with 10 per cent improved fuel efficiency and more features.
Although the current-generation A-Class has been around for no more than a couple of years, Mercedes-Benz has decided to come up with an updated model with refreshed styling and new features. According to Auto Express UK, the German automaker could unveil the A-Class facelift at the LA Motor Show next month.
After Honda, it’s the turn of yet another Japanese automaker to announce a preventive recall for its car models sold in India. The automaker in question is Nissan India, who is recalling 9,000 units of the Micra and the Sunny to replace defective airbags.
Honda Cars India has announced that it will carry out preventive replacement of driver side air bag Inflators of 1,040 units of Honda Brio, 1,235 units of Honda Amaze and 63 units of Honda CR-V that were manufactured between September 2011 and July 2014. This is being carried out as part of Honda’s global recall regarding a possible incorrect assembly of the Baffle Plate in the Inflator.
