Tata Motors’ European Technical Centre (TMETC) announced that it will be expanding its partnership with WMG at the University of Warwick. TMETC plans to increase its team of highly skilled engineers working on the campus by 40% over the next two years.

The year 2011 will open new avenues as car manufacturers in India battle it out to give the Indian consumer the best of the best. Hatchbacks dominated the year 2010 and it will be safe to say that the segment will continue to grow this year as well. The coming year will see a host of launches which will span across the segments right from hatchbacks, sedans, luxury sedans SUV’s and the like. Car manufacturers are putting their time, effort and money into making environment friendly, fuel efficient, safe and the most important of all, affordable cars, this year.

Tata Fiat plant crosses manufacture of 2 lakh power trains

FIAT India Automobiles Ltd today rolled out the 200000th powertrain engine from its Ranjangaon plant in Pune. The state-of-the-art facility at Ranjangaon plant started manufacturing power trains in July, 2008.  FIAT’s facility at Ranjangaon is among largest powertrains manufacturing plants of Fiat anywhere in the world. The plant was built to manufacture engines for Tata and Fiat cars as well as for exporting engines to other Fiat facilities across Europe.

Tata launches the Indica Vista Drivetech4

Tata Motors has launched an all-new Indica Vista range, the Indica Vista Drivetech4. The BS-4 compliant Indica Vista Drivetech4 has a Eurotech gearbox mated to the Vista Drivetech4 Quadrajet diesel and Safire petrol engines. It ensures higher torque at low RPMs, minimal vibration, precise gear shifting, longer engine life and cooled exhaust gas recirculation for lower emissions. The same degree of refinement and driveability is also being offered on BS-3 engines.

Tata to Launch Indica Vista Ignis

Tata will probably soon launch its Indica Vista Ignis. The Vista Ignis will be powered with a 1.4-litre Grande Punto petrol powerplant. The Ignis will the top end variant in the Indica Vista range and will approximately cost around Rs 5 lakh.
