Next generation Ford Figo spied in India again

Ford’s next big launch for the Indian market involves the new Figo hatchback which will also spawn a sub-4 metre sedan. The vehicle has been recently spotted on test, ahead of its official launch later this year. 

This next generation model seems to have borrowed quite a few design cues from the concept that was unveiled at the 2014 Auto Expo last year. Highlighting design elements include the Aston Martin-like grille, swept back headlights, an integrated spoiler and a stubby boot lid. 

The next generation model is expected to be powered by the 1.5-litre diesel engine from the Fiesta or the 3-cylinder, 1-litre EcoBoost engine from the EcoSport. 

The new Figo was first launched in Brazil late last year and going by the sales figures, the hatchback can be deemed a huge success for the American brand. With the upcoming launch here in the local market, Ford India will be looking to replicate the success to position itself better in the competitive small car segment.
