Maruti Suzuki Ertiga CNG and Ertiga Tour M CNG variants launched in India

- The Ertiga CNG is priced at Rs 8.88 lakhs, while Ertiga Tour M costs Rs 8.83 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi).

- Available only in the VXI trim level.

- It doesn’t get the SHVS smart hybrid technology.

Maruti Suzuki has launched the CNG variants of the Ertiga and the Ertiga Tour M in India. The former is priced at Rs 8.88 lakhs, while the latter costs Rs 8.83 lakhs (both the prices are ex-showroom Delhi). The CNG variants of the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga are based on the mid-level VXI trim. Compared to the petrol model, the Ertiga CNG costs Rs 71,000 more.

The Ertiga CNG delivers a fuel economy of 26.20 km/kg and comes with a CNG tank capacity of 60 litres (water equivalent). Interestingly, the CNG variants aren’t offered with Suzuki’s SHVS smart hybrid system. The CNG system on the all-new Ertiga features an Intelligent Injection System and dual interdependent ECUs for optimum performance. The also gets the Auto-Fuel Switch, which allows seamless switching between petrol and CNG modes without any jerks.

Under the hood, the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga CNG employs a 1.5-litre petrol motor that makes 103.26bhp and 138Nm. However, in CNG mode, the engine produces a power output of 91bhp and 122Nm. The Ertiga CNG is offered with a five-speed manual transmission, at present. Besides the Ertiga CNG, Maruti Suzuki is also set to launch the Ertiga-based XL6 premium MPV in India.
