Lamborghini has recently relaunched their Restoration Center in Bologna. The in-house restoration centre called the 'Lamborghini Polo Storico' aims to restore cars to 100 per cent originality along with a certificate of authenticity.
This in-house restoration centre is based out of their factory in Bologna, Italy and will help owners of classic Lamborghinis restore their cars with the highest accuracy and documentation known to exist. Lamborghini’s own technicians will help them preserve and maintain their vehicle to its original form using exclusively original spare parts.
Lamborghini Polo Storico will also provide various certifications for Lamborghini classic cars. Customers can have the originality of the components of their historic car checked by a technical committee, which if compliant, will then issue the certificate. With this documentation, Lamborghini Polo Storico helps protect the value of Lamborghini classic cars and provides the market with vehicle authentication.
Lamborghini Polo Storico will also supply genuine spare parts for every model of Lamborghini classic cars to restorers that are maintaining and restoring these cars the world over. These spare parts will either come from the company’s rich stocks, or will be produced by Lamborghini’s original and certified suppliers.
Apart from this, the restoration centre will also have a section called the Archivio Storico Lamborghini that will be Lamborghini’s official archives. The historical archive includes the documentation of historical Lamborghini car models, as well as technical schemes like engine and gearbox combination options, body colours, leathers, images and publications ever made by the company. The Lamborghini Polo Storico will offer this documentation on paper, but will be accessible in a digitalised version for all owners and fans of Lamborghini classic cars as well as for journalists, writers and researchers.
This announcement from Lamborghini about the Polo Storico comes right after Jaguar’s and Land Rover’s heritage department inauguration that took place recently. Such initiatives from manufacturers are useful for owners, fans and enthusiasts to help them keep their passion for cars alive.
