Facelifted Ford Figo introduced in South Africa

Ford has introduced the facelifted Figo hatchback in the South African market. The facelifted Figo has got a whole host of cosmetic updates both inside and outside the car. Prices for the hatchback start 118,670 Rand (Rs 7.37 lakh) which is almost a lakh of rupees higher than the top-end Duratorq Titanium 1.4 variant sold in India.

The Figo facelift gets a new hexagonal grille along with few other design tweaks to retain the novelty factor. The headlamp shape has also been revised with indicator lamps now moving to inside of the unit, closer to the grille. The fog lamp surrounds are also tweaked and the Figo now gets the option of a new alloy wheel design that is similar to the new Fiesta's. There are very few changes to the rear – the arrangement of the individual lights inside the tail-lamps has changed.

Underneath the hood, the South African Figo is offered with two engines; the 1.4-litre diesel (70bhp) and a 1.4-litre petrol engine (83bhp).  The South African variant also gets driver and passenger airbags and ABS, EBD as standard across the range.

The South African car market is very similar to the car Indian market, hence most manufactures sell the same models sold in India there. The facelifted Figo has a strong chance to achieve the same level of success that it has found here in the South African market.
