Renault has updated its highest selling car in India with additional features. The Kwid hatchback has received the 2018 model year update with additional features like reverse parking camera, rear armrest, a rear 12V socket for passenger, and rear retractable seatbelt. The AMT variants now also get the creep function. The new features will be available across both manual and AMT variants. Renault has kept the prices unchanged even with the addition of new features. Bookings for the new Kwid has already commenced across all the dealerships.
Appearance wise, the Kwid RXT (O) trim now gets a revised grille with chrome inserts. The rear parking camera is only offered in the RXT (O) and Climber trims. The RXL variant gets upgrades like front power window, remote central locking whereas only the top-spec RXT (O) variant get the rear 12V socket. The ELR seatbelts at the rear are retractable units which are generally offered only on the front seats. The AMT variant’s creep function comes in very handy when driving around on inclines or in city traffic.

Recently, Renault also updated the Kwid with a 4 year/1 lakh km (whichever is earlier) servicing policy along with roadside assistance. The 2018 Kwid remains mechanically unchanged. The Kwid is the only vehicle in its segment to offer a seven-inch touchscreen with navigation and digital instrument cluster. Available in a price range of Rs 2.66 – 4.59 lakhs (ex-showroom), the Kwid is available in 0.8-litre and 1.0-litre petrol engine options. The former generates 53bhp and 42Nm while the latter gives 67bhp and 91Nm. The five-speed manual is standard but the 1.0-litre is also available with five-speed AMT.
