Avoid Maruti Wagonr LPG & Spectra Motors. Pathetic Service.
This is a car that will fit your budget & being an LPG version product you will assume to have a cheaper running cost & there buy it. The extra cost of the LPG may get recovered within a yr but the downside is that it will put you & your Family in an extremely risky state.
There are two notable points why I say this:
1) Maruti’s claim (contrary to the claims made during sales as notified by its service garages) that Wagon R gives an average of 11 Km per litre (it’s actually just 10.5 Km for both LPG & Petrol) & should be serviced every 5,000 Km. While it therefore has a high running cost it also implies that you end up paying approx Rs 4,000/- (the average bill amount per paid service as per my experience) almost every 50 days (if you use your vehicle for 75 km or more per day). So the vehicle is actually better for short distance/ weekend user since they need to come back after 90 to 120 days.
2) All Maruti service garages are an extension of some sales dealership of Maruti. These dealers are major stakeholders in Maruti’s fight to maintain market share & profits & therefore sales contingencies over ride the customer service expectations of its existing customers. Maruti has lost control over its service garages as they do nothing to ensure good quality mechanics are recruited at garages or services at these garages.
Quantity is no replacement for quality. Maruti obviously does not understand this.
CheapPathetic Service & poor mileage.

Exterior: It's good
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort): Interiors are good with good space and comfort for driving. Only problem is with the luggage space for the DUO.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox: Engine performance is good and I don't have much problems with the gearbox except here and there when we gear up for reverse. The fuel economy is not great.
Ride Quality & Handling: I brought Wagon-R Duo November, 2006 and had driven 68,000 K.M till now. The avg. was 11-12 K.M/L. In city driving it gives 10. I use Wagon-R mostly on LPG than petrol. Surprisingly car runs smoothly in LPG than in Petrol. I didn't get any major problems and I changed my clutch plates at 40,000 K.M and tyres at 55,000 K.M. The driving comfort is excellent. I had put some additional fittings like spoiler, Rear View Video Screen with DVD player, Back Head rest video screens, Camera and Sensors for Reverse gear backing. Sports Steering Kit, Night breaker Head lamps and fog lamps. If the mileage would be around 15-16 then I would be more happy than I am now. I am recently travelling on the Outer Ring road of Hyd from my res. to office past 8 months and I drive at 120/130 K.M.P.H speed but didn't face any problems.
Final Words: It's my first car and I want to go with it till it doesn't trouble me. I don't know till when?
Areas of improvement: Dash board can be improved, tyres which come from showroom should be improved. Mileage should be improved. Power Windows should come with the DUO model.

Well, lot of Wagon-R customer have already provided a lot of pros & cons of the car. Still i am tempted to write about my own experience as i would like to see more of Wagon-R's on the road. I would like to see everyone owing 'Value for Money' vehicle. After lot of research for a year i suggested my father to purchase new Wagon-R instead of going for second hand vehicle. Model - Dec 2005. It has clocked 20,500 km on odometer till date. Trust me guys if use it carefully and if maintained well, you will never face trouble with Wagon-R. Practical & Good vehicle for small & middle-class families.
Pros:
1) Space : Spacious for 4 people, extremely practical seating which can be used as reclining seats - creating bed for two to sleep. Its boot space is also more spacious than any other cars costing upto 5 Lacs. Good legroom for front & rear seats. There is also lot of utility space inside the vehicle for example: space in dashboard, on all doors, between the two front seats etc. You can also check and confirm.
2) Ecomomical : My Wagon-R's city mileage is 14 kmpl without a/c. Around 12.5 kmpl with a/c. Mileage on highway 19 kmpl without a/c. 16-17 kmpl with a/c. To achieve such mileage the Wagon-R should be driven only between 55-70 kmph
3) Maintenance Free: Apart from normal servicing twice a year which might cost you around 2000 rupees or even more depending upon the kilometer it has run or as per periodic maintenance schedule. The spare parts are really cheap. You must always get your vehicle serviced only at authorised dealers as they are well equipped with proper expertise & equipments to service your car.
4) Practical: To tacke the urban areas traffic & parking problems & practical living it is always better to have small car. For family of four - five members; Wagon-R is the best option. Boot space is good enough to hold lot of luggage. Rear seats are independtly foldable, making space for more luggage - sadly this option is not available with new Wagon-R. Maruti Suzuki should have continued with 4 - seat option because the new 5 seating option has not made much difference for comfortable rear seating. In long-term the Tall boy design will help our grandparents and parents to move in and out of the vehicle very easily without bending their backbone much.
5) Value for Money: Overall it is very good and practical vehicle and Wagon-R is not just urban car; you can also go for family holiday in this vehicle. Go for Wagon-R, you will never repend your decision. I feel Premier's RIO interior rear seating is inspired by Wagon-R. From my point of view the advantage of having only front doors power windows is very good safety idea. The reason: if your Wagon-R is caught in water deluge which happened in Mumbai earlier in July-2006 and if your vehicle door is stuck due to water pressure. You will also not be able to operate your power windows without power from vehicle battery (which might not operate if vehicle is under water). In such case the rear doors manual opening of windows should certainly work and you would be able to get out of vehicle within minutes.
Cons:
Body Shape: The width of the vehicle should have been more to accomodate 3 person comfortably in the rear seat.
Tyres: Maruti Suzuki should provide tubeless tyres. As from article which i have read somewhere. The tubeless tyres weigh less than the normal tube tyres. Good for mileage. From safety point of view i think the tubeless tyres would not burst at high speeds. They have better grip on the road. You also do not have to worry about tyre puncture as they can be driven atleast till you find a puncturewala (unless you are stuck in jungle). So always carry a spare tyre incase you don't have one.
For music lovers, there is space which you can use below the quater glass i.e behind the rear seat to fit the speakers by cutting the plastic sheet and fit the speakers or else you can also go for box speakers there is good space in the rear. I am certainly not in favour of having a parcel tray fitment in the rear just for speakers.
Some Safety tips: Always drive as per instruction provided in manual book. Driving any new vehicle above 60 kmph within first 1500 km should be avoided. This will keep the engine smooth and enhance its life. This would certainly help your vehicle to be more economical & maintenance free. On highways and ghats especially for any turning always drive at less than 50 kmph. This will reduce body rollover in extreme turning points. Rest you will learn from my above article. Happy & Safe Driving

I own a mettalic red Lxi for past 4 years, looks are really good, though it looks small from out side but bigger from inside
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)
Car is spacious for four, excellent leg space and head space for a 6 feet tall person like me on all four seats. very comfirtable to drive. i have driven 1000km non stop with very leass exertion. I am an Army officer and big black iron box is synonimous to us. I have frequently travelled with my wife , four months old daughter and six big peices of suitcase, rucksack, boxes and utilies in absolute comfirt without slightest of problem of space. The rear collapsable split seat gives you tremendous flexibility to adjust your luggage.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox
On mumbai pune highway a santro tried to race with my wagon R. I coolely touched 170 kmph without a jerk and santro car was way behind not to be seen and mind you my AC was on.
Ride Quality & Handling
Ride quality is superb and confirtable. Handling is as good as a car sgould have in a price tag of 3.5 lakhs
Final Words
Car is an excellent buy who have budjet from 3 -3.5 lakhs. Who want a car with power, fuel economy, less on maintenance, and excellent space for four.
Areas of improvement
rear seats requires improvement for its comfirt, there is really no provision for speakers in my car. Maruti can really make good improvement on its upholstry and plastics.

The car has overall good exteriors with attractive tail lamps, bright headlamps, distinctive roof rails but I personally feel if the wheel size would have been a bit bigger to suit its tall boy design.
The dash board looks very ordinary and almost poor as compared to Hyundai i10 or Ritz. The rear seat is not very comfortable though the front seats have excellent leg space, stapney is poorly placed and takes a lot of space in luggage space making it very small which is because of LPG kit obviously. Door pockets in all 4 dors add to convenience and seat belts for all passengers add to safety. The RPM meter would have added more style to instrument panel. Also the vehicle is not good to accomodate 5 persons comfortably.
Engine delivers a very smooth driving experience, steering never goes spongy and I'd like to call it a silky smooth driving. Gear shifting is not good and I am facing continuous problems with reverse gear. Feul economy that I received yet is not more than 10 kmpl in LPG with AC. The petrol adds 2 more kms to the same. Not using the AC makes the difference again with 2 kms of addition in mileage. Car starts giving jerks after 2500-3000 kms of driving, in LPG mode. Engine also goes too dull with 5 persons and AC on.
Ride quality is good and smoothness in case of frequent services is good. Driving in city conditions is excellent experience as the car seems to glide even in the intense traffic. Over all comfort level is average.
Thus investment in Wagon R Duo LXi is not a bad deal. Rather its a deal with true value for money if you are not expecting something really great. But the above mentioned points are also to be considered before making the purchase decision. There are better options in Maruti itself is you increase your budget slightly.
Maruti needs to work on the problem with LPG kit and styling of interiors which definitely have a good scope of improvement. Stapney better be mounted more thoughtfully and in the last, the gear shifting should also not be failed to made smooth. HAPPY DRIVING, HAPPY BUYING!!!😊

Exterior
Wagon R looks kool, especially the tail lights & the front side. The New wagon R is much many times better in looks than the old one. Some may not like the design at first glance, but eventually you find it very alluring.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)
the driver seat is very comfortable and so is the seat next to the driver. It goes back to almost 140degree which can make one very comfortable on long journey. The legroom is good but definitely not spacious for 3 people people on back seat.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox
The engine is excellent, doesn't make any noise. Fuel economy is good, i get 16kmpl on highway and 14kmpl in city. Gear box is dissapointing. You will need some time to adjust to the gear box.
Ride Quality & Handling
The driving experience is good because of the high seating for the driver. one can have a good view and control the vehicle very well. I used to laugh when ppl used to say it is th ebest car for driving in the city traffic but now i understand what ppl meant by having control while driving the car.
Final Words
Excellent car for city, even if you have to drive a lot daily.
Areas of improvement
Gear Box needs to improved, very difficult to handle in initially. When the roads are not good or at bumps the back seat gets the feel.

This is my first car. As many, I was too confused between Wagon R, i10, Santro and new Estilo. Finally after a deep research and study, I chose Wagon R to be my first car. This is a real good family car. I would like to put in WagonR's adv. which I found:
> Very first, it's a Maruti product, which I believe is most reliable brand in India.
> It gives ample leg space both front and rear. Only if a 6ft kind a person sits in front and pushes back seat, leg space reduces for the rear passenger.
> Boot space is largest in its class.
> Comes with a 1.1 L engine which has a very low noise and is sufficient for everyday city drive. Even on highways, it can easily reach 130+ km/hr.
> There are many small pockets where you can keep magazines, toll receipts, coins, CDs etc.
> Driving is a real pleasure. You can keep on driving for hours, no problem.
> Many say it is dangerous to take sharp turns in WagonR, but I have taken sharp turns with 80+ km/hr and felt no fear. Of course, don't expect a sedan's performance here.
> I went for VXi (top end) model, comes with front and rear fog lamps, rear defogger, front power windows, electrically adjustable OVRMs, beige upholstery, dashboard with RPM meter, boot light and other standard fitments. Fog lamps really help on night highway drivings.
> Only thing I got less than expectation is gear shifting. It is not smooth. Shifting from 2 to 3 is even harder.
> I experienced less effective braking in first couple of days, but after 500+- km run, I now feel braking is good. And after first servicing, it has improved.
> Power steering works very fine. I have heard problems with i10's power steering, so this is one of the reasons to choose WagonR.
> I bought my car from Chowgule, Satara Road, Pune. I got best service & good discount from the showroom and representative we spoke to.
Overall, it's an ideal family car / small car / first car. I am truly satisfied with my car's performance.
