    DRIVING:

Bought this car for my parents last week after about few months of research on the market. I was all sold over Chevy Spark (after its super smooth Test Drive) and also liked Getz for its value for money. But in the end sense prevailed to me to go for the most fuel efficient, family small car of India.(saved more than a lakh over those cars)

Factors to go for this car:

    Trust of Maruti

Small in size (Best for city use where you don’t need high power)

Very fuel efficient – its only competitor in it segment is good ol’ Maruti 800

    What I liked after buying:

Ease of maneuverability – its power steering is pretty decent

Riding comfort – MPFI engine gives a smooth flow and a better ride

What could have been done better:

AC is not very powerful. Its much low in performance than any of other small cars

Interiors are pretty dull – after more than 8 yrs, Alto deserves a better interior and look

For the same price, Maruti surely can provide body color bumpers and both side rear view mirrors, which are coming at an extra cost currently.

But overall, I will say this is a very good car for:

    First car buyers

People who want to drive mostly in city and hence don’t want a powerful car rather a fuel efficient car

People who don’t car to spend too much on aesthetics and need good value for money

If for most of time it’s a single or two people use (or two small kids). In case if there are four adults than it surely might be a bit crampy.

It might be funny, but for people with low height (in case if you are 6` plus, this might not appeal you J)

And yeah, it can be compared with 800, but it scores mainly on its look and spacing. When you plan to go for a car, try and stretch your budget so as to include the power steering, coz from my personal experience I will say that the difference in drive is substantial.
