I have booked 2 month back  for verna fludic new car from Equity MOtors Rajkot Delear ,now this new verna fludic 1.6 diesel  i hv hardly driven 100km in 4 days this car EPS System failed (Electronic Power Stearing) and this hyundai ppl saying we dont know how it happen and it will take time to repair 15 to 20 days i hv paid up Rs 10.50 lac and still i m without new brand car. the hyundia Quality is very very poor. My VIN NO.MALCU41ULXXXXXXXX.

Final Words NEVER GO FOR HYUNDIA THE QUALITY THEY AR USING IS VERY VERY CHIP AND THEY ARE NOT SUPPORTIVE FOR THIS ISSUE. THEY AR NOT INTRESTING TO HEAR WHY IT HAPPEN IN BRAND NEW CAR THEY AR JUST WANT TO SELL NEW CAR AND NEW TARGET  ACHEIVING.

I own a Maruti ZEN and wanted to buy another car in sedan segment.  After a lot of research for my favorite cars between Honda City, Ford Fiesta, Maruti Suzuki SX4 & Verna, I finally zeroed down to Hyundai Verna CRDi SX with ABS.

My budget was about some 7-8 Lacs and my average mileage is about 75-80 Kms. Per day. Story goes starting with test drives and the first one was Honda City as mentioned above, I found it to be not value for money, although a great car, then came Ford Fiesta, few of my friends own this car but all were very disappointed with the availability of parts, costs of the parts, time taken for repairs and over all and that after sale service is extremely bad. Then I went to Maruti Suzuki Dealer where I test drove a SX4, it was really a great experience and felt like driving a real man (as they say), the ground clearance, pick-up, silent cabin, alloy wheels, and everything a person should expect from this segment. The only draw back was the bad fuel mileage.

Then was the time to consider a SX4 (Petrol) with Hyundai Verna (Diesel), the test drive was great, I took the highway and turned the Speedo to about 115 kms/hr, it was still smooth, in my total control, less noisy, & comfortable. The Air Conditioning was also great in the afternoon. Mind blowing turbocharger!!! A very refined engine. Boot space is good; Braking is wonderful even on high speeds.

The only point then was finances as the car (Top-End) was costing little over 9 Lacs. I finally ironed out and booked the Hyundai Verna CRDi SX w/ ABS, and am a proud owner of my decision now.

I only feel that as per the cost of this diesel vehicle; extra features like Alloy Wheels, better music System with at least 3 CD changer and a remote, refinement in interiors (Styling could have been somewhat like Honda CITY), Leather Option, Air Bags (Driver & Co-Passenger), Follow-me-home (Like TATA Safari 2.2 Dicor VTT), Improved headlamps, Rear Wash Wiper, 3 step door opening system with special door hinge (like in Fiat Palio) should have been included to make it a complete package of True Value for Money Car. Other wise people; don’t take time to decide I still vouch for Hyundai Verna (Diesel) if your average running is above 50 km per day.

Please be aware of few things like this car lacks power on low rpm & In hilly region, beware of riding in low speed or low gear.  Even in 1st gear, the car threatens to stall if the terrain in steep.  Should start to run only on 1st or 2nd gear in hilly region with maintaining at least 15kmph power to avoid stalling of the car.  If by any chance, the car stalls in hilly region, one should use the clutch to gain power and be done with it. In other roads, there are absolutely no problems.

Worst experience with Hyundai (Advaith Hyundai, Bangalore).

I purchased Verna CRDI SX ABS. The AC stopped working on the 11th day from the delivery of the car.

The Service Manager showed that the AC compressor has been damage and there is no external damage on the car’s body, NOT even a scratch.

The dealer also agreed with the fact that there is no external damage – not even a scratch on the body of the car. There is NO WAY that it met with an accident (even un-knowingly) but caused no scratch or external/body damage!! However the was not ready to accept that it’s the showroom/company’s responsibility to replace the defected part and unnecessary troubled me for 7 days.

Further to my complain mails  I had meeting with The Service Manager - He was taking no grantee of what might have happened during that 75km run (the vehicle ran 75 km for registration purpose; please note: RTO is not more than 6-7 km from the showroom)

Further, he had no quality check proof done after the use of car by the dealer’s driver (after 75km run) before the car was delivered to me.

To my surprise, he (Service Manage) had the audacity to say that even if it is his guy at fault and if it was not checked/identified by me – I’m the one who will take the load of the damage.
He very continently says that the showroom’s fault will be passed on to the customer if it was not identified by the customer at the time of the delivery!!
Its not a second hand car that was buying from Hyundai that I should have taken a mechanic to check the car from inside before I take the delivery – but I guess I need to suggest my friends and colleagues to do so if they are buying a Hyundai car!!

I am surprised on how the dealer was not even taking the responsibly or even trying to investigate what might have gone wrong at their end! On top of that he had the audacity to say that as if I have ran over a human being or an animal which has caused the damage!!

I relied on Hyundai for its brand and reputation and I am astonished, on what I have got in return for the money I paid.

After many mails even till today I have still not received any explanation to how/when the damage took place and why the damaged car was given to me!!

The service station replaced the damaged AC Condenser and one more part after 10 days – however what is the guarantee that there is nothing else wrong with the car that will come up eventually!!

I’m surprised that such a used/damaged car was given to me.
I have paid 9.8 lack for this car, I have full rights to know what happened and why was a damaged car given to me?

Exterior Great look.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Great looks, good stereo, low cabin noise, spacious, less head room and poorly designed seats. you need to use a neck pillow over the front seats for added comfort.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Fabulous. I drove for around 11000 kms and this car delivers a mileage of around 18 kms (60% city + 40% highway drive. full tank to full tank. checked by myself and an expert engineer from hyundai).

Ride Quality & Handling Easy to handle. designed for city driving. easy to park. good brakes, you can move quickly through the highways. easy to overtake. it is a pleasure to feel the power while accelerating. great road stability even at a speed of around 145 kms.

Final Words  If you are looking for a vehicle that has got the power+ fuel economy verna may be the right choice.

Areas of improvement Air bag, seat design, head room.

Exterior is very good looking. really a stunner out and out. everywhere i go people look at it admiringly. interior is also breath taking and gives out a very posh and fresh upmarket feeling. all the swithces are kept within easy reach of driver so that it doesn't distract him while driving. blue tooth is a very good feature and is need of the hour and is conviniently located on the steering wheel itself. back seat is also very comfortable and nice. A.c is very effective even when the outside temp was 48c. automatic gearbox is a blessing and once you drive it then you will not want to drive manual i am sure. it is so hassle free. however being automatic takes its toll on mileage. mine gives around 15k/m in highways and around 11k.m in city traffic. but i am not complaning as it is very easy to drive a automatic. ride quality is upto mark. however suspension is some what soft and it shows at high speeds. overall a sensible package that's why it is a hit and commands a waiting period of around 3 months.

I booked Verna VTVT - SX - ABS & got delivered within 10 days of booking. I am using it almost for a month now.I am 6 feet tall & hence my concern before purchasing a car was boot sapce / leg space while sitting at driver's position. I had test driven & compared SX4 , New City & Verna. SX4 is bad at legspace & my leg is getting obstructed by the dashboard. Hence its rejected at first instance. 2nd choice was City which good but costly. Then I looked at Verna. I was surprised with the leg space. No obstructions at all. Also when I take driver's seat at extreme back, a tall guy sitting behind driver's seat is not feeling awkward for sitting.

Its a luxury car having nice interiors , FACT , good music system, Power steering , trip meter , night & day mode of back mirrors , hand rests , driver controlled door & windows lock, big Trunk etc.

Exterior look is also nice & impressive.

So far I am getting an average of 10 in city, which is to my expectations considering AC & Music on.

I am happy that I have made a right decision by purchaging Verna

Exterior Looks good but of what use! body panel is of paper thickness saying to increase milage, bumber actually to take on aimpaction force but just press and see ITS PURE PLASTIC!!! will tear of on smalltouch with a footpath, Apillar clearly blocks the vision of driver while taking curves, wiper of less length on driver side does not wipes the most essential part of vision in indian roads, SURPRISING FACT AFULL OPTION CAR HAVING FOUR WHEEL ALLOYS WITH SPARE TYRE ON NORMAL DISC! AND THE AUTHORISED SERVICE CENTRE DOESNT HAVE A TYRE CHANGER DURING ROTATION.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Space is ok, on driver side the legs touches the fan knob and it can get off, thigh touches the steering on entering and exit, cabin is very noiesy,plastic is poor which gets scrached onslight rub, drive on highway is smooth while on other roads the vehicle has verymuch roll and pitch, A/C is good.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Powerfull engine, fuel economy poor, gear shift 2nd n 3rd feels notchy.

Ride Quality & Handling Poor in sence to the segment its been rated,ACTUALLY VERNA SHOULD BE COMPARED WITH M800 OR ALTO!!!!

Final Words CHINES TOY FOR GERMAN PRICE!! PLS DONT BUY THIS CAR THERE ARE MANY BETTER CARS IN THIS SEGMENT FOR LESS PRICE AND VALUE FOR MONEY. IHAVE BEEN FOOLED. PLS TAKE MY WORDS SERIOUSLY.

Areas of improvement FROM HEAD TO TAIL, CHANGE UR MENTALITY.

Exterior: The material used starts rusting very soon. Few places i can already see the metal rusting. I owned an Accent before and have used it for about 8 to 9 years and its body has also rusted in many places literally having holes in the body.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox: Its 2 and half years i own the Verna and have driven about 49,000km. Once i faced a problem with coolant leakage however it does not indicate on the instrument cluster, even the temperature was normal. I discovered this when i opened the bonnet and did not find any liquid in the reservoir. The dealer charged me approx 10,000 for this.

lot of noise of the steering and the wheels when the car goes in potholes and speedbreakers, also the ground clearenc is very low. Even when only the driver is driving the car scratches most of the speed breakers in India. The car literally jumps on highways making it uncomfortable for rear passengers.

Recently i had a problem with the gearbox. While driving suddenly the rpm raised and i slowed down the car. since i was on the highway i culd not pull aside very soon so i drove a bit to know that unusually the rpm was higher for the speed. When i stopped aside i found that the REVERSE, 1st, 2nd & 4th gear of the Auto transmission were not getting engaged. I only had to drive to my destination in the 3rd gear. When i got back to Pune and showed to my dealer they said i had put the gears in wrong manner so the gear and shaft had broken. How silly they are that they dont know in Automatic transmission it is not the driver who controls gear shifting but is the machine itself. They say it will cost me 2,50,000/- (yes Two lakh fifty thousand) to get the gearbox replaced. This is a sign of poor quality of materials and bad workmanship of Hyundai. gears cannot break so easily and in such short life span. I have writtren  to Hyundai and hope they act wisely and prevent this in future.

Ride Quality & Handling: Bumpy ride, less control at high speeds while turning the car literally drifts. Steering becomes too light at high speeds. Ride for the driver is fantastic, it zooms with press of the accelerator pedal.

Final Words: After sales service of Hyundai should be better. Labour and parts are very expensive.

Exterior The best Looking Car in its segment, Awesome Looks, Amaizing lights.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Beautifully designed. Very modern looking dash board. So many features that it really gets you excited everytime you sit in. Aux usb in for stereo, an excellent techometer. Excellent technometer shows u direct mileage. Wat r getting, that is the superb feature. Gear showing in technometer is a good & new feature.

Colour of interior & seat covers is very light. Good leg room. Music player is only play mp3 that means u cant play DVD in this player. Seats are not much comfortable. my old car Baleno seats was much more comfortable than Verna. AC is also weak not as good as Baleno.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox As I purchased 1.4 CRDI its pick is little bit less than 1.6 CRDI. but i m satisfy from its pick up, but if u wants pick up than definately go for 1.6.

Fuel Economy Fuel economy is excellent. I m getting 22 to 23 on highway at a speed of 90 Km/hr with ac  (Delhi to Chandigarh). in delhi i m getting around 15-17 depends upon the traffic jam. 

Gearbox Gerabox is smooth, 6 speed gear box is excellent. Actually this is my first diesel car. in this car u have to change the gears very frequently. Its really unconfortable for me.

Ride Quality & Handling Supension is very light. Handling is good, no engine sound, vibration is zero.

Final Words A beautiful car, value for money.
