confusion between petrol & diesel Linea

hi all,

i have nearly decided on the Linea after months of research. The ony thing left is whether i should go in for the petrol or diesel ?

My monthly driving in it would be not > 600 km

i intend to keep it for not more than 5 yrs

which has the better pick up, driving pleasure ?

which would have lower maintenance costs/ hassles?( to avoid TATA/FIAT A S S as much as possible !)

is the in cabin noise levels(NVH) markedly different? 

(issues which are NOT important to me are - 1 lac initial cost difference, cost of diesel/petrol. What IS important, is the driving pleasure/ease of owning it.)
