Exterior: I bought this car with one reason that I like the tapering top end and over all design - I admire it,

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort): Very comfortable, everyone getting into my car mentioned its lovely space, fantastic leg space even after front seats pushed back ! kids can play in the back seat ! my friends wife who sits in other same class vehicles said - lots of space in the back for long drives,

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox: No doubts reg. the duratec 1.2 lits Petrol engine which I opted -- the power with or without AC on is simply great, one will enjoy the power drive with power steering, Fuel economy still to ascertain, will post it soon and my present assumption is that city ride it must be 14-15 kms I presume. Lets check on it precisely and discuss, Gear box, very soft - as said it shifts very softly.

Ride Quality & Handling: Amazing power, suspension is great at 90 speed which I reached as yet, power steering makes the drive and handling car very comfortable,

Final Words: I STARTED LOVING THE CAR AND RECOMMENDED SOME OF MY IMP. FRIENDS WHO ARE OPTING CHANGE IN THEIR CAR -- Long Live Figo --

YOU KNOW THAT IN ITALIAN - FIGO MEANS -- TOO COOL, AND THE CAR IS APT FOR THE NAME GIVEN

Areas of improvement: Will mention once I drive the car over 1000 kms

I have been using the new car since 15 days, its great car, soft in driving, yet to kinw d mileageI dont see any cons -- its a great car, every aspect it is designed for Indian driving conditions

Hi all, I am very new addition to Carwale. I would like to share my experience with My New Figo, for this reason only i joined in carwale. I have more than 13 years of experience in Engineering & Maintenance fields of various Auto OEMs and now i am working in Japaneese car maker. Based on my experience in various car production & quality systems, Car Tightening tools experience,Car fluid filling system experience and feedback from lot of my friends who are working in various auto OEMs in our country, finally I decided to go with Figo. I considered & test driven I20,swift,Polo and finally fell in love with Figo. Overall It is the best of the best in this segment and VFM car.

About the delear: I booked the vehicle on March last week 2013. Both MPL ford & Chennai ford sales reps nicely responded for my queries with more patience. Finally i selected Chennaiford for my Figo titanium diesel. They offered teflon coating, mud flaps, floor mat, boot mat. In addition to that, they given sport pedals, parking sensors, car cover, free registration all at free of cost. I got the vehicle at 6.94Lakhs on road. They even arranged finance @10.25% fixed rate.  I took the delivery on 5th April as promised by the delear. After my car delivery also, Chennaiford (Mr.Magesh & CRM Mr.Samuel) called me and asked about feedbacks and suggestions. I am extremly happy about the delear also.

Exterior Very impressive exterior. Facelift is more impressive than the older version. Particularly the Front look is very bold kinetic design and looks like Astonmartin's. I like the front grille. Side view, flared arches, and corner views also looks excellent.Rear view is good.Exterior gives the feel of a strong sedan. It's very good stability while driving on high speed and sharp cornering. Unknowingly i fell love with this car.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Very spacious vehicle largest space in the rear seat...Excellent boot space, not seen in any other smaller car. Best in the segment I feel. awesome interiors Bluetooth Feature is just tooooo Goood. With A Great Music Output. The Programmed key is sum thing different compared to other cars includes boot opener, Rapid Decleration Warning is one thing I have not seen in any other cars.Door trim with arm rest design is very convenient. Very good road view for drivers with driver seat height adjustment and daylight is excellent. Also i like the Instrument panel blue colour.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Good pickup, great mileage, gear box is very responsive.I took a long drive with my family from chennai to Ooty and i checked the mileage from chennai to mettupalayam (tank full to tank full technology)with the average driven speed between 100 to 120 close to 7 hours drive with 4 persons. only stopped for lunch in salem. It given a mileage of 19.9kmpl with full AC on condition. Then imagine, if i driven in the average of 60 to 80kmph, defienetly i will get more than 24kmpl.

From ooty to Mudumalai, there are two ways and the shortest road has 34 hairpin blind curves and also police allows local vehicles and drivers only to drive. so My guide driven the car. believe me, the road has dangerous curves to drive. During return, i had a doubt that, my car will take this challange of claiming the mountain or not. but surprisingly it took the challange and it took us in beautifull manner.

Ride Quality & Handling True to Ford style ride quality and handling are good, negotiating turns at high speed is not a problem. No vibrations & NVH levels are very very low in high speeds. Turning, parking, braking are very good.I landed in heaven when it comes to dirving experience.

Final Words No doubt best product in this segment, car is excellent. I would advised my Friends to go in for the Car. It is Really a value for money. No complaints. At this price and features this is the best beast on road. if compared to  POLO,     i20, etios, all the versions are at least 1.5 lakh costlier than figo. Ford has spent lot of money on safety features. comfort is also taken care of. even on rough roads the performance is good, till date have not scrapped the surface.

Areas of improvement Only rear windows should down fully. No other improvements should be made as this car is one of the best.

Excellent AC, Best in class space, Good fuel economy,Best city & highway drive, etc..Rear windows not fully down

      Dear All,

I am the owenr for maruti swift VDI . yesterday only i took the ford figo ZXI 1.2l petrol delivary. I really scared to buy an americal car. But i am very much satisfied with figo. Truly value for money. I am really happy to drive in hyderabad trafic. May be power is less compare with maruti. Price is very much resonable. I did almost 4 months research to buy a medium range car in between 4 to 5.5 lakh. Finally i bought with 4.76 lakh. I feel as of now a good car i have. till Milage i am unable to find .

      Exterior

Ok!!! looks good, big screen for driving, I really impressed with driving comfort.but rear wiper looks not good. Side mirrors r smaller than other vechicle but view is good.

      Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)

Plastic is ok , Do not expect too much . With that cost thay given a good inside comfort. Persoanlly i am  happy with inside plastic and other facility. But they have to improve in leg rest etc.. . A big banet is a safty one . A/c is the top class in this segment. Music system is good not a top class. Bluetooth option i like very much.  this kind of futures are very impressive .

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox

I am not expert in technical things. with my driving experiance i never observe any odd sounds from the engine. While driving  turning radius , steering , parking , reverse parking etc are ver very comfort.

      Ride Quality & Handling

Intially i was worried about the power. It releases less power compare with maruti . But i never faced so much problem with this power. It is minor issue when compare with cost and 2 years warrenty. Driving is  good . I never face trouble with any kind of future while riding on express High way.

driving comfort, Good Leg space & boot space,Good road view ,Excellent A/c,good steering wheel,Less power(71 bhp) ,Poor cust. care , Fear about brnad name, power windows

Decision Making: Was looking for a 5 seater family car. Options were “Swift, Ritz, Fabia, Polo & Figo”. Fabia and Polo are good cars even with the extra money you pay. But was ruled out due to after sales service and maintenance. Ritz was not selected due to less cabin and boot space. So shortlisted with Swift and Figo. Use to drive Swift petrol and was very happy. But as I was looking for diesel variant (due to recent petrol price hike). Considering the waiting period Swift and value for money proposition finalized with Figo.

Home Work: Spoke to couple of my friends who already own Figo. Both diesel and petrol. Found all of them were pretty much satisfied overall with the car. Also got tips from them on how to get discounts and goodies from the dealer. As I’m not good at bargaining :-). Visited 2 showrooms and decided to go with Metro Ford Palace grounds as the sale rep was responsive and prompt in answering all the queries. He also promised to deliver the car in a week’s time on full payment, as they had Sliver EXI variant in stock. They agreed to wave off 3rd year warranty charges approx 4.5k as corporate discount. Included floor mats, mud slaps, car freshener, cuff plates, sun film as complementary worth 5.8k. Paid for fog lamp, car cover, seat cover and 3M under chassis coating which came to a total of 6 lakhs 6 thousand on road.

Driving Experience: Test drove my friend’s petrol version and also diesel version at Metro ford and found that the petrol version was little under powered. But the diesel version was fun to drive with good pickup, great handling etc. Got the car delivered on 12th June and have driven ~600 km till date and very much satisfied with the car. Engine is very smooth, at times in traffic in idling you feel as if the engine is not on. Quite cabin, engine noise hardly enters the cabin. Impressive interiors. Great pickup and descent mileage. Did a mileage check from tank full running for about 350+ and filling the tank again and found that in mixed condition with/without AC driving in Bangalore city traffic and drive to Doddaballapur got an average of 16.3 kmpl @ top speed not exceeding 90 km. Did not want to push her hard until she clocked 2000 km.

Things which could have been better: Ground clearance. Found that at full capacity (ie; full tank + 5 passengers) passing a short speed breaker will easily hit the chassis many a times. Other issue is that the pickup drops significantly with AC ruining at fan speed 3 or above. Missing rare power window.

Space, Milage, Engine, Handling etcGround clearence, Rare power window missing

      Exterior

the car looks pretty plain from the outside but let that not lead you to any final judgement. no sir! this car still has the potential to look zippy. the car looks different and frankly saying lengthier as compared to rivals such as swift and beat. the only exception in hyundai's i20 but then costs a lac more too!

      Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)

let not the low stance of the car lead you to think that it might be cramped. on the contrary the car is really very spacious when looked from the inside with oodles of space. the car has one of the largest boot space in its class. all this is thanks to the huge wheelbase. while i personally do not like red colored interiors(available only in ZXi  and the top of the line TITANIUM model), it still feels different. there is the option of black color also which frankly saying looks way better! the car really is comfortable. however there are certain eyesores too like the absence of rear power windows(even top of the line TITANIUM) does not have it and the lack of steering adjustment. however the company provided audio system has one of the best audio outputs. the AC is also one of the best amongst cars in similar price range.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox

Ford is known the world over for its diesel engines providing a mix of great mileage and good power delivery and FIGO is no exception. with company claiming over 20 Kmpl the car is well suited for the market at which it is targeted i.e. a value for money car ideal for city condition. while the car provides power well suited for city conditions, on highway at high speeds it really feels that the engine is reaching limits especially @ speeds above 130. the engine sound is audible inside the cabin even with the company using a double lining in the cabin, maybe a triple lining would have done the trick. the gearbox is one of the best out there with crispy and smooth gearshifts and a highly responsive engine. gear ratios are good too. while the peak torque figure of 160Nm @ 2000 rpm may not sound much(Swift has 190Nm @ 1800rpm) , in reality the car zooms past due to good torque delivery to the wheels.

      Ride Quality & Handling

the ride quality is a tad higher above it's rivals due to a great suspension employed and handling is perfect. the car does what the driver wants it to! while the lack of steering adjustment may not find favor among many nevertheless the car still is able to make up for it in terms of safety features, rear window defogger and a great AC. the person does not get in the car rather sits in.

      Final Words

overall the car is a great value for money! with the base model costing 3.53lac & 4.53 lac for petrol and diesel respectively it can't get any better than this. plus the components for figo are almost similar to fiesta and the ford ikon which ensures there won't be a dearth of spare parts anytime soon & hassle free after sale service. the car has been designed keeping in mind the city conditions with all its potholes and blind curves. not only is the car powerful but it also has enough braking power in it to avoid sudden animal appearances and other emergencies. with ABS and EBD included in the top variant(TITANIUM) the car is bringing features which till 2 years back were available only to luxury cars to the masses. the only other car which compare suitably enough is hyundai i20 but it's base version diesel costs a lac more than the top end of figo, a point which tilts the needle in favor.

      Areas of improvement

inclusion of fog lamps, rear power windows and steering adjustment( come on guys take 20000 more but let these be included).

good fuel economy, great power delivery, good & spacious interiors, well built, great city drivepants on highways, large turning radius,no fog lights & rear power windows in any model

Exterior: I Saw figo the first day it was launched in Lathangi motors Bangalore, amazed by looks especially the front. Rear side is ok ok, not so great. I feel the car can have more height which gives bit of more stance when compared to other cars of same segment.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort): It  is a wow when you sit onthe rear seat loads of leg sapce for rear seat passengers. Bounty is you can fold the back seat to complete flat, this means I can have my two kids or even elders sit or even sleep. driver seat is comfortable close to perfection. Inspite of less height a 6 foot person can comfortably sit in the rear seat without his head touching the room witrh still space left . I am 5' 11" when I test drove fiat linea my head was scrapping the roof. so you can imagine. finally interiors are good though not excellent would say better than swift or Tata visa.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox: Since its the same engine as that of fiesta diesel the durotorq I assume that I would get more mileage...expecting to be more than 20+ km per lit of diesel the same was told by sales man. Lets see... in 2nd gear with AC on engine was sluggish, without ac it was fine. But certinaly would say drive was much better than swift as my uncle is having a siwft diesel. there was no turbo lag just as in swift. In swift you can feel the turbo after crossing 20km speed. stating dirve was much better to swift diesel. I was satisfied with this performance. AC is too too good.

Ride Quality & Handling: Suspension was best in class with the feel of a sedan, I test drove in one of worst roads felt really comfortable with no jumps. Stearing was was and handling also good.

Final Words: Good car, real value for money for diesel at this price. no other cars in diesel for this price. Only thing I am worried is resale value. though too early to decide.

Areas of improvement: Though too late the height of the car could have been more, rear windown should have rolled down completely, rear power windows is not available even in the highest variant.

price, engine, rear seat space, suspension & mileagerear window, overall height.

      Hi all,

After 3 months of researching on cars, i have finally decided to go with Ford Figo Diesl(EXI) varient and got delivery on 16th dec 11. Till now it clocked 1000km. I would like to share my driving experience with you guys.

      1) Excellent ride quality and body control even you touch 100+ speed.

      2) I was surprised with the steering feedback it gives @ sharp curves, narrow roads, as i covered my first few km in ghat road it was splendid experience with Figo on ghat roads.

      3) It even better in city traffic, i live in hyderabad, even in bumper to bumper traffic you can happily go in 2nd gear, i go to 1st gear if i have stop completely until then u can stay in 2nd gear, and gear ratio is awesome as it supports very low RMP in 3rd gear!!!, so frequent gear shifts can be avoid with Figo.

      4) Next come to FE: I am completely satisfied with this as i have got 18 in mixed conditions of City and Highway with AC is on always.

      5) The last but not least, which is about maintenance: as i covered only 1000km, so i cant comment on this but what i can say is if any car handled single handedly then we can reduce lot of extra costs incurred!!! Maintain good RPM ratio always, better to go around 80-90s in highways, then you wont find major issues for a longer period.

      6) Lastly about Dealership experience: I will comment on this once iam done with the First Free Service.

Drive safe!!! All the best guys...

      Exterior Good look.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Good spce, speakers are really very good.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Excellent, power full engiene with excellent pick up, fuel economy is excellent(my car gives 23 + kmpl with ac on highways and 26 kmpl without ac total distance traveled 970 km in single day). gear shifting is exeptionally good. When compare to other make in its class my choice is figo. in last three months I drive around 23000 + kilometres its a smooth flawless engine performance as well as drive for me.

Ride Quality & Handling Excellent handling (road grip and steering control).

Final Words Good Value for money, I m very much satisfied.

Areas of improvement High body vibration in rural roads, worst mud flaps broke down easily better change as flexible as ikon, need to work on ground clearence freqently hits on speed breakers if travels with full capacity.

      Hi All,

I own Ford Figo EXI diesel and have driven it for around 3000Kms in 1.5 months. It is time to write a review on this car so that future hatchback  buyers  can decide easily.

My budget was around 6L. I got confused between VW POLO and FORD Figo. VW Polo comfortline comes around 6L + accessories = 6.4 to 6.5L Petrol version. I liked the looks fit and finish, interiors of the VW Polo and i booked the car. They said the waiting time is around 3 months and I was ok with it.3 months happened and no response from VW you try to call them and the sales representative with whom you have interacted would not be there and you need to carry all the documents and ask them when the car will arrive. I being a customer wants to be treated like a king but  dealing with VW folks it is very irritating.

They my friend bought fod figo EXI diesel on road price including all accessories it come around 6L. I took a test drive and boy diesel at such a good price. The diesel engine is a tested and proven ford fiesta diesel whereas in VW it is just some 3 cyl untested one. I called the the dealer who promptly came to my office offered test drive and the behaviour of the dealer was very impressive. Since I travel a lot (>2000km per month)diesel will save me some money. Immediately I canceled VW polo petrol and bought figo. I got it within 15 days of booking.

If you are confused between polo and Figo my suggestion is VW polo is a good car but it is for people who don't care to pay 1.5L extra for the fit and finish and don't mind dealing with this irritating VW dealers. Else go for Figo it is the best VFM car and a very powerful engine (1.4L)than POLO.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Very good interior, very comfortable seats.Back seat headrests is missing and power windows.Hope they add it in future.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Gives me around 16Km=l in city with fill A\c on all the time and 20+ in highways.

Ride Quality & Handling Best ride and handling.

Final Words Best car, very well priced need not worry on fuel bills can go for long trips every weekends without worrying about fuel bills.

Areas of improvement Back seats heat rest and power windows.

Exterior Looks compact from outside, attractive and stylish. No weird looking abruptly bent areas anywhere. Not as good looking as i20 but way better than the Ritz.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Road view is superb even for a person with 5' 5" height. Steering is hydrolic so not as soft as Maruti/Hyundai but gives a solid, confident feel (you know where the wheels are and where the car would be going). Cabin and seats very much comfortable for front and rear occupants. Very good leg room. Rear seat lumbar support is excellent. Front seat also feels comfortable if you properly adjust the height and back tilt. I felt the steering column a little obstructing when getting out of the car. Also find little less space for left foot to rest on long drives (no dead pedal). Quality of plastics and upholstry is good. The black dashboard causes reflection in bright sunlight (may be because of its matty shiny finish - but due to this it doesnt become very hot also - my guess). Unlike what some people reported for the initial versions, I didnt find any problem with rear window glasses rolling down on their own etc.

The quality of the Ford music system is very good. It has got speed sensing auto volume increase/decrease, bluetooth connectivity for phone. You can pair 5 phones (but only 1 can be active at a time). When all the windows are closed, even people in the back seat can speak without raising their voice or leaning forward. iPod/CD support is standard. USB support is there but you need to buy a separate accessory for the socket.

Internally adjustable electric mirrors are very good and provide an excellent allround view. Feels very confident in city as well as highway. Mirrors do not fold completely however, so need to be a bit careful while driving in city.

Bonnet release lever is positioned on the passenger side but I do not see it as a major problem (nobody needs to open bonnet while driving or at the fuel station every time). Boot release is conveniently placed on right side of dash. Fuel lid release is at lower right near floor like most cars. Boot doesnt open with the button unless the car has completely stopped. Good feature.

Not much space to keep things on the dashboard but its good anyway as loose items kept there can be safety hazard in case of sudden braking especially for children.

Indicator stalk is on the left unlike other cars in indian market which is initially inconvenient but you get used to it soon.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox The 1400 cc TDCi develops 160 nm torque at 2000 rpm and has a max bhp of 69 at 4000 rpm. This means for optimum power, mileage and driveability you need to maintain the rpm around 1800. This gets a bit used to especially if you are shifting from petrol car (revving hard in wrong gear is not going to pull her better). The engine noise is quite audible but not very much if you roll all the windows up. And even if you dont roll up the windows, the noise is not irritating, you start liking its meaty roar slowly :-) (whats the point in spending 1 lac over petrol and not able to "hear" your car? :-))

There is absolutely no vibration however, the steering/gear lever remain perfectly vibration free.

Fuel economy is excellent (just keep the rpm tip in mind). I got 19 kmpl on Pune Kolhapur highway with 100% AC and I was driving with 90-100 speed. This might improve after first service. I didnt calculate in city but guess its definitely not less than 15-16 which is good. If you drive around 5-10 km daily and do not use your car for a week in a month, then you should go for petrol, otherwise diesel is better. I went for diesel not only because the petrol version gives 10-12 mileage in city but because it lacks the power to pull if you are going uphill with AC on and 4 adults in the car. Diesel engine has uniform pull even with AC in all conditions (but remember the golden rule of right gear and rpm - a petrol can come to your rescue in wrong gear with half-clutch and revving but a diesel will simply stall there). Driving a diesel is a different art but you will get used to it very quickly and will enjoy the reward as well.

Gear-box is smooth, though the gearshift for petrol version is slightly better than the diesel one (may be my own perception but I noticed it for the TD cars as well as my own diesel and friends petrol car). Reverse gear needs to be shifted with care with full clutch depressed.

Ride Quality & Handling Ride is a bit bumpy/tossy when the speed is very low but the moment you drive past 30-40 km/hr it improves dramatically. At 60-70 and above, those unexpected potholes simply dont matter. The car is stable even at 120km/hr, braking is good and the ABS/EBD work very well. You feel like driving the car continuously and the occupants also dont get tired for 2-3 hours at a stretch. People have talked about scraping the underside on speed-breakers (as the wheelbase is larger) but I didnt find it a problem at all with 4 passengers and medium size speed breakers (around 5" height) if you slow down and pass them carefully (which is what they are meant for). Its not a major concern at all as per my experience (1000 km in 1 month).

Final Words A very good value for money family car which has little bit of good things from all others (spaciousness like Vista, not as beautiful as i20/punto but moderately good looks) and above all best in class boot space (284 ltrs). I was concerned about service and spare cost, but as they have invested a lot in the new plant at Chennai where 80% parts are indigenized and because of child component concept, you dont have to replace the whole assembly, maintenance might not be an issue unlike Ford Ikons (especially 1.8D). If you are buying a Ford however, do check the reputation of the dealer for peace of mind. Mine is Planet Ford from Pune for whom I got very good references, so I got my car from them. The delivery and after sales experience was good.

Areas of improvement I wont say rear windows, fog lamps, allow wheels as then it doesnt remain value for money. Dead pedal for driver, indicator stalk on the right. It would be good if radio antenna is retratable/foldable.
