Ford Classic [2012-2015] User Reviews

I have the 1.6L Titanium version of the Ford Classic. Have been driving it since last year after I had booked it right off it was launched by Ford in July 2012. Since then I have already clocked several thausand KMs in it and the first point being I have loved driving this car. Its sheer performance, with its comfort & entertainment systems along with safety pretty much makes you happy.

The car has got a rugged built within, has a pretty OK sedan look which can be enhanced. The interior beige colors along with the dashboard lighting in night are terrific. The entertaiment system has been modernized compared to the older Fiesta model and has a bluetooth connectivity which I must mention is very handy in city traffic. You can connect your phone and can speak while driving without any other gadgets. The best part of the entertainment system I would say are the speakers. They are really awesome!

The driving experience you get is classy. No strain on your feet and left hand for shifting gears. Visibility around the car from the driving position is better than its counterparts. But then these details of driving comfort vary from person to person. Do test drive thoroughly before deciding.

I would also like to mention its fuel economy which is pretty good for a 1.6L sedan. I get around 12-13 KM/L in my petrol engine driving in Bangalore!

Finally a word on safety as the Titanium version comes loaded with both airbags and ABS. I would recommend atleast airbags even if you are not going for ABS in any other cars.

Overall I am very satisfied with the car.

Final Words Not a great car. A minimum of INR 5000 per month will go toward repairs. A minimum of 1 day each month, car needs to be parked at the dealer's workshop. Pathetic.

Areas of improvement Quality of car is poor. Keep spending INR 5000 per month and be ready to reach office in an AUTO atleast one day of each month, as the car will surely be stationed for repairs at the dealer's workshop. It's disappointing that I have to compare Ford Classic with TATA INDIGO, whereas the price difference and quality expectations cannot be thought about. In two years, my vehicle underwent both front shocker replacement, drum replacement, Distance To Empty meter reprogramming. I just drove 25000 kms. Not a right choice. Beware of this load of IRON. Imagine a car which was once equivalent to Hyundai Verna is now competing with Maruti Swift Dzire. What else the fortune can be.

Resale - No customer available. Just check OLX and you will find maximum number of Ford cars for resale and the advertisement generally expires, due to "NO ANSWER".

Music SystemPoor Suspension, Frequent Repairs, Open one recurring deposit of INR 5000 in the name of Ford India

Exterior Good.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Reasonable space, less features in sound system, hydraulic steering giving less driving comfort in comperison with hyundai and maruti cars. suspension is hard, this creates noise in dashboard while driving vehicle on rough roads.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Good performance on highway, in city pick up is serious concern. I cancelled most of the city trips due to this aspect. 

Ride Quality & Handling Good on highway. Very poor driving comfort in city driving. Before engine takes pick up, autos, bikers and cab drives takes your space. Increases travel time a lot. Very irritating especially if you drove petrol car earlier.

Final Words Not so worth to buy ford SOHC engine. Presently very good options available with DOHC engine with fantastic mfg quality and excellent pick up with same CC even in diesel too.

Areas of improvement Treatment to customers/service, First Time Right quality approach, there should not be any oil leakages and AC blower failures within 5000 kms. engine pick up, very hard suspension.

stability on road, fuel economy on highway drive. Faced serious quality issues like oil leakeges.slow pick up,susp, etching while driving in city. Poor response from dealer, like customer is insect

Exterior - Decent and aggressive looks , without any curvy flashlines .

 

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort), thigh support low ,  bluetooth stereo is a boon , cup holders are big enough to put one litre standard  bottels or  even more than that .

 

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox- till date no issues , however there claim of 32Kmpl is marketing story , doesnt give more than 14-15 on sity and 19-20 on highway .

 

Ride Quality & Handling- good , except it makes a thud sound when goes on potholes .

 

Final Words-  have driven the car 37K plus Km in one year and feel like its was a good desicion to discard Dzire , etios , SX4 and and amaze,overcall a great car with full features , nothing stands in this price  and value it has given to me . No matter lot of critics for ford for maintainance but till date its fine , first paid service 3.7K secong 4.2 and third 4.7 K . where is cost then ?

Interors are good..No fuss..its spacious enough for 4 and haf people though seats both front and back are smaller compared to others which is bit unesay to sit. Also would have appreciated if they could have offered steering mounted buttons as well. Also to mention AC and Music system both are very good...

 Good engine bit frugal on first gear but picks up fast. Mind you one of the best driving machin. You will always be happy driving this machine. Love this car on highways. I get good economy on city 18 with AC and 24 -25 on highways..but i keep a check on my speed. On a normal driving in city you will get 15-16 easily with AC

 Ride quality is good enough..will give 4 out of 5.

 At 8 and something you cannot get any better deal. Its a perfect car..no complaints...

One year before, 18-10-2012 I purchased my Ford fiesta classic 1.4 liter diesel car. No much maintenance cost until now. I found that, Engine performance is good but fuel consumption is more. In company they suggested me the mileage 21.37kmpl in city and 32.38kmpl mileage on highway roads. But, my car provides only 11 km mileage in city and 14km mileage in highway. Before first service, I complied this problem with the Ford service dealer. They mention that after first service you will get the mileage as same as company suggested.  But after the first service I got the same mileage. Again I informed to the service dealer. They suggested that in 2nd service if you change the engine oil and gear box oil you will get the mileage. During my 2nd service I changed the same as they said even still I am getting the same lesser mileage.  No proper response from the service dealer regarding mileage. In company they provided two free services that to over. Still I am riding with the same condition. So if you want to purchase this Ford fiesta classic 1.4 liter diesel car you have to thing twice its fuel efficiency.

driving comfort, high pick up good carpoor mileage

Exterior : The external features of this car are a pleasant to the eyes though I have to say that it is a little old fashioned compared to the recent launches but it is sturdy. I have been using this car since 2009 with 66,000 kms already done.

 

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) : As a driver I find this car very comfortable, but the rear seating could have done with better styling and some extra legroom.

 

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox : I am using the diesel variant and have been satisfied with the fuel economy I get, the engine is very responsive and is a definite value for money. i find the gearbox very smooth and have used it long enough to say that in a maintained car there is usually no issues with the engine and gearbox.

 

Ride Quality & Handling :  Ford as company has be known to make cars for rough handling and fiesta is no different, it is suitable for the roughest road in india though we need to be careful as the ground clearance is average and at times the bottom does brush the speed breakers. The handling is very smooth.

 

Final Words :  This car is low on maintenance, good on fuel economy and is a value for money, there may be many other cars in this segment but none can beat the low maintenance of Ford Fiesta.

 

Areas of improvement :  In my Limited variant I miss the electronically controlled ORVM , USB and Bluetooth support and stearing mounted controls

 Engine performance good. Fuel economy is at its worst. Very low indeed. Due to good pickup gears change quite fast.

 Quality of ride is okay. Still to be tested on comfort in a long journey. Handling is good.

Final Words

I dont recommend this vehicle as it will make a big hole in your pocket. With petrol costs going up at regular intervals, it will ne unaffordable to run this 1.6 Ford Classic Titanium. 

Areas of improvement  

 The Ford company should atleast not cheat buyers by giving jacked up reports - 21.7 km per litre (petrol). A gimmick to lure gullible people. Let the company improve its image by giving ARAI data instead of some cooked up data. No car manufacturer has gone so low in luring customers.

Needs to improve in fuel milage. If fuel  consumption is low, i would recommend this car.

Exterior good and catchy. Company provide with good range of high qualoty colours specialy red and blue .A Sober sedan looks. Back lamps appear to be bit old fashioned. but on the whole 3.5 starsis all it deserve for exteriors.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Well equiped dash. with apprecialbe storage space. instrument cluster is good and looks more digital. good system of lights inside. Music system is Awesome with very very good sound at low and high volume . A good balance of treble and bass. Seats are comfortable than amaze ad Dezire specially. though a bit less space at back there is no problem in long journeys( I am 5'11" and comfortably travelled 500 km up down in single day at back seat not much problem). Seats are good and comfortable. interior fabric quality is also good. on the whole a good and spacious interior for the price

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine is good with a good comression ratio. sound is good. never go with the economy given by company. it depends on how you drive. I get economy of 10-14 in delhi with ac and about18-20 on highway eith ac.(petrol). engine power is awesome. i had clocked the car190kmph on NH24 with 6adults in the car. but dont expect mileage at speed above 130kmph only about 12-14 or might be lower

Ride Quality & Handling Smooth ride quality. a good suspension. No sounds and vibrations inside. A very smooth ride at even160-170kmph.

Final Words On the whole if you want driving pleasure at low or high speed at low budget of 7lakh gor for the package. As a family car it is also good. Atleast try test drive of it and dezire also you will opt this only. no service problem A bit costly but affordable. car require service every 6 months and one has not to go for service in between again.
