I have bought a GP Active last month from the Prerana motors, Bangalore showroom. Though the initial experience with the sales (TEST Drive) was good the delivery of the vehicle was not satisfactory. i had to change my color selection several times because of stock availability and delay in delivery of the vehicle. After one week of delivery i had requested for a fitment (Accessories) to be fitted in the car for which i was told to leave the car at the showroom, but when taking delivery for my surprise the door mats were missing, CD’s/DVD’s missing, a big mess with the Audio system all controls were disturbed. when i asked for this i got reply that it was like that before only. After few days i visited Prerana Service Centre in Kudlugate, Bangalore Prerana Service where i was made to wait for 45 minutes in reception waiting for somebody to speak to me. finally i got one person to talk to me i explained him the problem with the vehicle but the technician was very rude and told me to leav the vehcile for 3 to 4 days for the inspection and later they will inform me. i took my car back and left the service station immediately decided not to get it done there.

Is this the way to behave with a customer ? FIAT – My question to you is why do you sell vehciles in JV with others with a service like this..

 

Superb Design, Solid Build quality, Good MileageWorst Sales and Service network

Exterior The design is world class, but the paint job could have been better, I suspect this is for cars made in india only...Ive found rust stains in my 4 month old car.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Its interior is simple but eventually you will begin to like it. But could have provided USB as standard for all audio players atleast should have given an AUX.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Nothing to say, world class technology. Covered 12K Kms and overall fuel economy of 19.3Km/L.

Ride Quality & Handling This is where the car outshine others. Good for those long drives.

Final Words The only thing that irritates me is the service guys....they dont know a thing or pretend so.

Never does what we ask them to do. Can any one belive that they tried to con me by charging 3K INR for first service???

Areas of improvement Train those service people and Fiat should standup and support their cars instead of shying away.

Dear All,

Placed order for Active-diesel during mid March, 2012 and got delivered in 2^nd April, 2012.

First Appearance the elegant and timid outside look attracts everybody and the same with me.  Big wheels, Ultra big doors with wide hand rests & large dash board(not present even in SUVs & MUVs), elegantly designed steering wheel with good grip on both sides, a large amount of interior space and luxury seats which even the fattest people in earth can accommodate.  Truly eye catcher while the vehicle on road.   The amount of noise normally present in Diesel Vehicles is comparatively less in Punto Diesel.  Due to this I preferred this vehicle.

Before having this car, I took test drive of diesel versions of I20, Fabia, fiesta & figo, Beat, dZire.  Because of Shape & Waiting Time I dropped dZire; Lesser Boot Space, less inner space, size of rear seat, position of opening of rear doors, I dropped Beat; Fabia, & I20 are costlier when compared with Punto, and finally figo which lesser features.  Punto Active has all the features which I like to have in my new Car.  Though placed as basic model, it has inbuilt Music System, Tachometer, tilt  steering, large hand rests, effective AC with rear vents, Power Steering, Central Locking, Tubeless Tyres and I suppose it is the best Value for Money in this Class.  Because of less advertising campaign & poor marketing, this car has not ruled the roads.  And I suppose after launch of new fiat cars like bravo etc, fiat may do well in market.

Earlier I used Santro.  During one month of purchase of Punto I drove for 1100 Kms and I felt the difference of comfort, and driving a big vehicle.  Though it comes under hatch, the size is  13mm lesser than 4Meters, hence it enjoys the excise cut and delivers large leg & boot space of seden.  Special features available in this basic mode like real time Mileage display, trip indicator, distance to empty, tilt steering, the look of SUV from inside etc.  There are uncountable features available and these features are not indicated either in brochure or in any of the sites.  I am amazed with the enhanced ground clearance which I feel driving an SUV while driving.  I am sure that the owners of Punto may feel the same as I feel after purchasing the car.

Regarding after sales service, I am satisfied when I took the vehicle to the service station at Mandi, of Himachal Pradesh for getting a small error rectified at rear window.

This is my experience in the last one month of using the car. I will be back with more updates of my car.  Bye to all.

Exterior The exterior is sporty, perfect italian. Designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Interior is spacious, comfortable and well illuminated. there r good leg rooms. The cup holders and the bottle holders r of no use. The sun shield does not have a mirror. It has the largest boot in this segment. Trip meter is excellent. Beep sound when going at high speed or when the doors r unlocked and auto lock after 20km r some of the functions worth noticing. Seats r firm, not soft.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox The engine perfomance is quick, and responsive both in city and highway drives. The gear shifts r smooth and easy in congested roads. Fuel economy is 13 to 14km/litre in city and 19-20km/litre on highway. there is a noticeable engine lag with five people seated during the initial driving.

Ride Quality & Handling Ride quality and handling is excellent. we get so much of confidence while driving both in city and highways even at high speeds. There is no straining or fatigue while driving.

Final Words Best hatchback in this segment. Good Italian to roam around.

Areas of improvement The bottle holders, cup holder. No boot light in Active variant.

Good value for money car. Spacious interiors, nice handling, smooth gear shifts, relaxed drivingthe bottle holders, cup holder r of no use. noticeable engine lag with five people.

Exterior Its a very good exterior as a matter of design the look is quite contemporary, its a italian make car it matches its expectation of design

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) I got the  base one  Punto Active1.3 that come with superb music system in built, really no match at all in the segment, company has not comprisemised in fact here I would say Fiat has  exceptionally done well.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox I am not a competent enough to make any coment on worlds leading engine maker, superb is the only word that I may define, I have diesel engine but quite often people has asked if its diesel or petrol due to less sound and noise.

In top gear car sticks to roads and gives you better control on roads as today most of the car has been euipped with high speed ability but no one cares about comfort and safet  in top gear but here this car has been well thought for that , as you feel very much as ease in top gear also,Braking for that matter is unmatched it feel like ABS although its base model doesnt come with  ABS as standard feature.

Body materail is really -really very solid in this car as i can safely vouch for that as i met with severe accident with this car where a truck hit me from behind on highway, but god saved me although i was not wearing seat belt also but i felt that day, had there been any other car instead of Fiat i would have crushed in the car itself as my car was thrown in ditch form of 15 feet hight  and i was safe inside the car.

I will really thanks Fiat for designign such wonderfull safe car for people.

I bought this car in patna in Aug 2012 my friend were hisitant about my decision but those critics who drove my car didnt utter anything after driving my car here i will say its driving comfort has been excellant as was convinced my driver, we drove vehicle for 1000KM in 20 hour stercth and its definately with no doubt one of the best comfort in this segment.

Gear Box here i will like to comment that i dont know why but i feel it hard comparing with other car in this range as i have already driven my car around 11000KM, so will like it to be more smoother.

Performance- No problems.

Mileage- I purchased this car on my gut feeling, and believe me it didnt cheated me, I took mileage test of my car after almost 15 month and that too on stetch of 828  km, I used tank full to tank full method and I got average of 19.88 with AC on that too in most of city driving. i will strongly support for this car.

Ride Quality & Handling Its a joy drving this car and no doubt.

Final Words Its great car with no second thought , pricing is wonderfull as you get many features at entry level itsef, Kudos to maker of the  this car.

Areas of improvement I dont know why people are under estimating this car , having all the quality of becoming a hot selling car, Marketing drive  is needed to make people know the exact about the car.

Mileage , comfort, look, music systemGear shifting should be bit smoother

Exterior Super looks n build quality, Its a pure beauty.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Enough space, far better than swift, 1.3 active comes with inbuild music system and 2 power windows. Nice driving position and good boot space. None of all this comes in swift and one needs to pay 1lac extra as well.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Fuel effeciency yet to be checked, have driven for 500kms in city and geting 16km/lit with 80% ac on. Gear box is as smooth as a maruti product and so it the clutch. Pick up will not be similar to vista quadrajet & swift as its a heavier body car but still it doesnt disappoints at all.

Ride Quality & Handling Just awesome.

Final Words Any one looking for a hatch in deisel should go for punto.

Fiat has long terms plans, dont go with the what crowd says and buys.

Areas of improvement Diat dealers need to improve furthur, so is for all car dealership exluding maruti to a limit. I will share my more inputs once i complete 5000km.

Exterior With its amazing looks Punto is the most stylish car in its segment.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) The chrome/silver paint finish in the centre console adds a lot to overall interior looks, some of the plastics are of cheap quality like the one below steering wheel...it just keeps coming out all the time.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox The best diesel in its segment, gives you the right amount of power when required..i have driven 25000 kms and i just keep liking it more everyday, i am getting 17kmpl overall mileage.

Ride Quality & Handling Very Stable Car possibly because of its overall weight and the suspension, you would not feel the potholes below.

Areas of improvement Add USB on the basic variants also, Make sure that the Cup holders & Bottle holders are of some use, Tyres - time to rethink about original fitment tyres.

Freinds I was planning to buy a car for last 1 and half year.  I searched all possible websites, reviews. Took test drives and finally shortlisted Swift. Its just happened that during my visit to Swift showroom I checked on Fiat Punto (Fiat Showroom -Fortune Motors, N. Mumbai  is just next to Maruti). I  drove it. I checked and compare it with Swift LDI and I found punto (active 2012 1.3 D) more value for money sans its poor image (of after sales service) in the market.  I got a very attractive package (From Pandit auto) which includes free insurance corporate discount plus some accessories free( mud flapis, floor mats, car cover etc) extended warantee and RAC. Car came with a CD player, front door power window, Central locking, duel tone interior wheel covesr as a standard.

 Apart few points like extra support below engine, Back seat metal support, charger point, improved ground clearance etc  differenciates Punto from its competitor. I got a delivery (within 1 week) on 23rd March 2012. Drove 800Kms.

Exterior:- Well defined, Fiat people knew what they are desinging. Smooth lines. Gives fuller look. Aerodynamic design (I think its based on Shark). From front its look like a sedan.

 

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort):- Feature studed. very comfortable on long drive. You wont realise the speed even it touched 120Kmphr. Suspention is smooth no bumpy ride anymore. I am talking about this on a small state high way. 

 

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox:- Gerbox:-Smooth, Fual econony not yet tested.

 

Ride Quality & Handling:- Driving pleasure especially on High way. feel confident during overtake. It gives a feel of safety even at 100Kmph+ speed. Very steady. engine noice ie very low once you touch 60+. Its a music to ears after that. You can feel sheer power when you press the accelerator littlebit longer. Very stable even at the speed at 120Km. Stick to ground at high speed, Gives a feel of safety on sharp turns at high speed.

 

Final Words:- Go for it if you are looking for a value for money and Good looking comfirtable car with International appeal.

 

Areas of improvement  :- USB port missing on music system. Key less entry missing.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) I am associated with the Indian auto industry over 35 years and can give a decent review of the product. Punto is an excellent car with interior good for the money you pay.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine is super and silent. I was using a Honda city earlier and while riding on highways i could not find any difference in noise levels. i get a fuel average of about 20 to 21 in highway drive and 15 in city, with AC always on. Gear shifting is easy.Clutch is very easy to operate.

Ride Quality & Handling Super. i like every small bit of comfort while driving. easy access to switches, wiper.

Final Words Please buy this car if you are looking for an excellent car. I have driven over 11000 Kms in the last 7 months. No issue what so ever. In fact I enjoy driving this car and it has become smoother than the initial days. Enough power available to overtake effortlessly. It take the speed breakers very easily with four persons in the car. I had to negotiate speed breakers with lots of care in my earlier car. 

Areas of improvement FIAT should market this car better.
