      Exterior :

Looks fabulous from every angle; with 8 colour options. Sleek and powerful. In a word WOW!

      Interior (Features, Space & Comfort):

Spacious interiors with colour options for double stiched uphlostery. The dashboard layout is simple, and controls are eazy to find. It can seat 5 comfortably. The rear seats fold to increase the boot space. For those who like to worry about office & keep in touch, while driving, there is the "iDrive", with a high resolution screen. For music lovers, Hi-Fi loudspeaker system (12 speakers, 205W), 6 DVD changer. Conectivity for USB devices, Bluetooth, and mobile music player.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox:

The 20d has 4 cylinder, 2 lit engine delivering 184 PS and max torque of 380 Nm. The 30d has a 6 cylinder, 3 lit engine delivering 258 PS and max torque of  560 Nm. The 8 speed automatic transmission  delivers power smoothly and strongly. It has Dynamic Drive Control and the car smoothly shifts between Normal, Sport & Sport+ modes.  Fuel economy is pretty good, and the automatic Start/Stop function, and brake regenaration feature increase it for the power this car generates. (Note: The one mentioned in the Mileage is for the 20d)

      Ride Quality & Handling

The placement of the longitudional engine is such that it gives the car a very good road grip. The independant suspension for all the four wheels, the precise response to electrically assisted direct steering, for this all wheel drive help you to weave through traffic, or even at high speeds give a firm road grip. Cruse control with braking system has been provided, making long drives comfortable. The high driving position gives better road view, and is an advantage while manoeuvering the car.

      Final Words

On the basis of performance, the BMW X3 won the Bloomberg UTV-Autocar Luxury SUV of the Year 2012 award. Has 2 engine options, 2-litre and 3-litre, both are disel so more economical to run in India, has 21.2 cm ground clearence, so belly won't scrape on the crater ridden indian roads (especially during monsoons), or some axle breaking speed brakers. Has wide 17" (20d) and 18" (30d) ensure great road grip, great ride. Finally a BMW is a BMW, quality comes with the label.

      Areas of improvement

In a hot country like India with summer tempratures around 42-48 degree Celcius, a SUN-ROOF is not a desirable or a luxury feature (as in Europe where it is very cold, and, 25 degrees Celcius is considered piping hot). Here we need protection from the sun.

Indian city roads and highwars are heavily smoke and dust laden. So a powerful air filter for the air conditioner, and an air ioniser would be highly desirable to protect the lungs.

Can run on a flat-tyre, but a spare wheel is still desirable.

Neat ground clearence 21.2 cm (must for crater ridden indian roads), disel; so easy on the pocketsun roof not a desirable feature in hot country like INDIA

Exterior Exterior is appealing. If you just see the car from the front, I can assure you that there is an 200% chance of you falling in love with the car. The car is made in an entirely unique and a new way; from the white Corona rings to the dynamic lighting system at the back or be it the XLine Pro (the silver fenders). It is a beauty to see it glide on the road.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Interior features are pretty much standard from X1 sDrive 20d. Especially the leg-room is exceptional. I have no words to describe the interiors of this Car.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine performance is ultimate. I don't think you can get this kind of performance and efficiency from this class. You just step on the accelarator and all you know is that your car is at a speed of 100km/h. Trust me, it has happened to me thrice.

Ride Quality & Handling Ride quality is of no comparison to other cars. It is just ultimate.

Final Words Well, if you are looking forward to go for a SAV, go for this one. This car is just exhilarating. It is true awesome. Purely German crafting.

Areas of improvement No areas of improvement. BRAVO BMW!

Exterior-doesnt looks good for the value paid Looks a bit dated and doesnot give the expensive looks which it should give. The alloy wheels are a bit weak and even has a dirty look.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Just fine..the interiors are good value for money with good furnishing but still a final touch up may make it better.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Very thirsty, average performance. It is powerful and gearbox is crunchy but it gives below average fuel economy which is a great problem.

Ride Quality & Handling Very good, a good off road car but sometimes gives a bit of rear suspension problem. The suspension has a shreiking sound and sometimes road sound comes.

Final Words A good powerful and ugly car. Its very much powerful and a youth's car but designs and looks go against the great BMW made X3.

Areas of improvement Exterior designing. an overall change in the exterior style may make the car better and a final touch up in the interiors, a little bit peppier and fuel efficient engine may be better for the car.

      powerful,uglybad looks,a bit congested

Exterior Great outer looks -just like X 5 -good road looks.

Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) All excellant-some times miss out on the 3'rd back seats with a big -over 5 family-types.

Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Mileage in city is 10-11 kms. Highways in 14-15 kms. pickup & sports mode is v good. But Diesal noise from outside is slightly more than usual. In city conditions with 8 gear box-smooth & silky. Automatic 4 wheel drive is a boon on highways & rough conditions.

Ride Quality & Handling Excellant ride quality. Smooth pick up-great to drive on your own. Only draw back can be-engine of X3 & X1 is the same even tho prices are quite different tho body wise its of course quite different & X 3 is way better-road presence wise.

Final Words Summing up- Ideal SUV for India & better than Audi Q5 in all respects.

      Areas of improvement NA.

Great looks, Good mileage, V Good pick up, Driving pleasure-Great.No stepney/ extra tyre-But runs on flat tyre technology But in Indian conditions-may not be ideal.
