Aston Martin DBX powertrain and output figures revealed

    - The DBX will be powered by a 550 horsepower turbocharged V8.

    - Will have a Vantage-type LED taillights integrated into the ducktail boot lid.

As the official reveal draws closer, Aston Martin has revealed the official power figures of all-new DBX. The first-ever high-riding Aston will be powered by the 4.0-litre turbocharged V8 that will put out close to 550bhp while the torque will be rated at 700Nm. To put it in perspective, the power figures are equally matched by the ferocious Porsche Cayenne Turbo.

This V8 is the same AMG sourced unit which also does duties in the V8 Vantage and the DB11. The Gaydon-based carmaker claims to have finished extensive testing of the DBX ranging from real-world driving to high-performance track evaluation across various race tracks. Aston Martin also claims that the DBX has managed to deliver cornering speeds on par with the Vantage, meanwhile, the braking figures are better than that of the DBS Superleggera. Also, the SUV has managed to lap the notorious Nurburgring in sub-eight minutes during the regular testing regime. What’s more, the top speed of 180mph (around 270kmph) has been achieved repeatedly, but the official number is yet to be set within the closing stages of the testing process

Before it breaks cover in December this year, Aston Martin will continue to hone the powertrain and dynamic setup of the DBX. When it arrives in the fiercely fought segment of luxury-performance SUV, the DBX will lock horns with the likes of Lamborghini Urus, Range Rover Sport, Bentley Bentayga and the aforementioned Porsche Cayenne. After it goes on sale in international markets, the all-new DBX will surely come to India as well.
