Volkswagen India has announced that it is considering the option to bring the luxury sedan, Arteon to the Indian market. The model is expected to reach the Indian shores sometime later in the year through the non-homologation CBU route like the Tiguan Allspace and the T-Roc.
On the exterior, the Arteon features a lowered stance housing the LED headlamps with integrated LED DRL running across the front chrome grille and the brand logo at the centre. The lower bumper is flanked with large air inlets on both sides. Other highlights include reworked LED taillight units, a sportier exhaust system, lip spoiler, and chrome trim on the rear bumper.
The interior of the premium sedan is equipped with the latest touchscreen infotainment system with VW’s latest MIB3 interface supporting wireless connectivity for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, all-digital driver’s display, 30-colour ambient lighting, 12-speaker stereo system, wireless charging, and a multi-function steering wheel with touch controls.
While Volkswagen has not disclosed the engine specifications of the Arteon, we expect the German car manufacturer to power the sedan with the 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine with a capable output of 268bhp and 350Nm of peak torque mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission sending the power to the front wheels.
