CarWale Track Day 2016 Top 10 pictures

CarWale Track Day 2016 Top 10 pictures

Track days are fun. Fast cars, no traffic, and minimal animal movement. What more could one ask for? Great pictures, maybe… And thanks to our ace behind the lens, we have that covered too. Here are some of the best pictures shot by our chief photographer, Kapil Angane at the CarWale TrackDay 2016.

If you are a budding automotive photographer or simply love great pictures, you’d love them all; Kapil does have a decade and a half of automotive photography experience behind him that helped him deliver these results. Enjoy!

The Lamborghini Huracan demands a lot to bring out its outlandish looks, brutal power and fast nature. Captured beautifully here, the picture has the power of perspective, composition, speed and drama; no wonder, we can’t stop looking at it.

The Abarth Punto is your typical in-your-face sort of a car with its Scorpion wheels being its most striking feature and the picture showcases that superbly. What’s more, the tilt in the picture doesn’t let the Fiat completely overpower the Ford Figo. And, it shows the flowing track as well.

The biggest challenge when shooting a red car is to capture the correct shade especially under changing lighting conditions. Kapil not only manages that, he has also succeeded in capturing the 3 Series drifting out of the corner bringing the 3’s RWD fun element to the fore.

Not many cars allow you to capture any other component while focusing on its badge. Thanks to the Fiat 595’s compact size, not only does this image show the car’s racing strips along its side skirt, it captures a hint of the car’s wheels in the frame too. And the water droplets only add to the drama.

Speaking of details, the Lambo’s massive wheels asked for more attention than the car’s eye-catching blue hue. The glorious pattern, the bright red calipers and the raging bull badge just pop out of the screen dulling everything around them. It’s drama at its best.

The most subtle and classy looking sedan never really showed off its sporty nature despite being fast around the track. But, the C-Class’ flowing lines and poised stance stands out against the brown grass. And the crispness of the picture just makes you want to do a double take.

Despite the rains being a spoiler, our ace lensman has used the situation quite effectively to create a stunning image. The reflection of cars on the road (the Fiat’s in particular), and the play of lights, along with motion blur and the flowing corner give the picture the much needed speed-effect.

The puny 595 occupies more than 50 per cent of the canvas, and yet the flowing nature of the track is clearly depicted here. As for the car, its main elements – the wheels, the dual exhaust tips and that quintessential rounded Fiat 500 character still scream for attention.

One of the most challenging things at a track when it comes to photography is capturing a corner pan shot for a fast approaching car that refuses to hold its line. But, Kapil has managed that with the Mini here. The body roll further enhances that whole on-the-edge feel.

Finally, all the heroes of our track day outing. The cars. The bikes. And, the hardworking people behind it. The picture would have been perfect if the guys to the right of the Huracan weren’t sticklers for symmetry and the ones on the left were, well, a little less friendly…
