The Toyota Yaris Black Limited Edition variant has been revealed and will be launched in India soon. A purely cosmetic update, the new variant will hopefully direct some eyeballs towards the Honda City rival.
From what can be seen in the images released by Toyota, the Yaris Black gets a new all-black paint job, new chrome garnishes on the edges of the headlamps and taillamps, and new dual-tone alloy wheels. Additions on the inside, as advertised, include mood light strips on the doors and leather seat covers with broad black centre strips. Details are awaited about which trim level the Yaris will be based on and what (or if) additional features will be available.
The Yaris Black will be powered by the same 1.5-litre, four-cylinder, naturally-aspirated petrol engine as the other variants of the car. This engine develops 106bhp of maximum power and 140Nm of peak torque and can be had with either a six-speed manual transmission or a convenience enhancing seven-step CVT. We will have to wait till the launch to know which transmission option the Yaris Black is offered with.
