Exterior Decent looks. Don't have a body color door beedings to offer. Had to buy mudflaps for V varient.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) I had to shell 24K on seats even on a V varient to feel comfortable, Plastic is cheap and the meter console color scheme is not user friendly. One got to search for the needle in a white background.
I had to spend 800 to add a USB/Aux input to the built in audio system. this is heights toyota for a V varient. So I sould not expect an electronically adjustable OVRM in this car:) And I didn't understand the logic of keeping 4 spkrs in the front row :(, There are some innovations like door mat lock for driver which is really useful.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox I don't know why this car has given a second gear.. you can't even negotiate an average speed braker with it in Bangalore. One got to rely on 1st gr. However, once the you move to 3,4 & 5th it is a fun car to drive.. you don't really have to down gears as often as you do on other cars.
Ride Quality & Handling Good ground clearance, smooth steering, precise gear shift. It is a pleasure to drive if you are not expecting 0-60 in 8 seconds :)
Final Words I don't think it was value for money at 6.7 on road for V in Blr. I had to shell out another 40K on accessories to make it look like a V varient. But I tust toyota for their low maintenace cost and product quality & service. The car is a pleasure to drive once you move on to 3rd and higher gears.
Areas of improvement I guess I have given enough :).

The car looks good from outside.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)
The interiors are good. A/C vents are nice. Gear shift lever is smooth and appropriately placed for driving comfort.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox
I have purchased Etios Liva (V model) in Jan 12 . During purchase I have been told that car will give mileage of 14km/liter with A/C in city and 18 km/liter on highway. But I am getting only 10 km/liter mileage in city. I have been told that after 1st service the mileage will improve but the mileage is still 10 km/liter.
Ride Quality & Handling
Very smooth steering movement. Comfortable for long drives.
Final Words
Every thing is good about the car except mileage. Toyota needs to work on improving the mileage.
Areas of improvement
The Tachometer is placed on the left side which is not comfortable to see the speed while driving. It should have been palced in front of steering for easy viewing of speed. VERY POOR MILEAGE. Toyota needs to work hard on improving the mileage.

Exterior
Good lines and appeal, that attracts in first place from a distance, however, without chrome's I wonder what it would retain on this plus.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)
totally disappointed on the interiors, I think the all cost cutting measures took place hear for a toyota quality
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox
Was groaning on test drive and dragging pick-up at higher gears. I guess the body was made first for higher capacity engine (1.5 L) and then changed to Indianized 1.2 L version to get duty cuts and make it cheaper or raise the mileage to cpmpete with Maruti Swift. There was no need to really offer the J- variant as it offers nothing comparable, not even a power steering.
Ride Quality & Handling
OK, I wonder what it would feel like without power steering in J- Variant as I tested the V-variant. There should be 15 inch alloy wheels option available on all models.
Final Words
Disappointing, for all the hype created of an India's first, world's first, Q class TOYOTA hatchback, Q is what missing inside.
Areas of improvement
Complete overhaul of interiors and tweaking the power to balance with decent mileage, even 16L may do, for common family man.

Exterior Excellent shape, good quality of paint used. Nothing negative to report. Felt like buying after a test drive. Using G segment Liva for over 2 months.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Good.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine performace on the whole --- V.Good, city average i got was 11Km/ltr and highway Mumbai to Khandla and back I achived average of19.1 Km/ltr.
Ride Quality & Handling I did not find any thing to report, found it excellent.
Final Words Book Liva if you are going to buy a car in this segment. Different fun in driving Liva. Before I purchase Liva, I had Zen - nice car too, I checked other cars before booking Liva, like Swift, Polo, I10, I20, Figo, Zen estilo, but non of these cars could beat Liva. I felt in love with Liva after a test drive and immediately book it. Infact I liked Etios with 1.5 engine but because of parking problem I settled for Liva.
Areas of improvement : No area of improvment required.
City average I achived is 11 Km/ltr where as on the highway fm Mum to Khand I achived 19.1km/ltrPick up is slow.Exterior/Styles

Exterior
The external look is simply awesome. When i bought i added Chrome Grill & Rear Spoiler to it to give an sporty look.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)
Negatives: Tachometer is missing, however i never used it while driving. Most of the cars will have 2 rubber beading in the doors, but one is missing which looks the car dusty in the door gap. Seat Covers, Music System does not come along with the GD variant. No adjustable head rest. No rear wiper, defogger.
Positives: Surprised with the legroom space in the rear seats. Three 6feet tall guys can be comfortably seated in the rear. Enough boot space. Even though only single wiper provided it does the job perfectly - calculated design. Anti-glare rear view mirror.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox
I have driven only 800km so far and could calculate the economy as 19.1kmpl in bangalore city. Waiting for the first service to compare it better. There is no turbolag while acceleration and 80kmph is the max i have driven so far and waiting for the first service. The performance at 80-90kmph is very smooth. Since it is a corolla engine, the reverse gear is adjacent to 1stgear by pulling a lever.
Ride Quality & Handling
Shock absorbers are really good as compared with my previous car. The hard and soft suspensions takes care of the potholes. ABS(Antilock Braking System) with EBD(Electronic Brake Distribution) is really advantage for the car to be in control at any speed. 4.8m turning radius & EPS (Electric Power Steering) enables to handle the car in the city comfortably.
Final Words
As per my analysis, this car is an value for money as compared with other cars in this segment. It is designed for more fuel economy. I love the car and it is satisfied for my requirements. Even though there are cost cuttings features clearly seen but i felt those are not important much for me. I have added Seatcover, music system, speakers etc from Autoshop for 20k and the car is now fully loaded with Sporty feel.
Areas of improvement
Tachometer, Interior quality can be increased. Rear wiper, defogger are required.

Exterior Good looking car. Dark colors look better than light colors (upto personal choice). A good ground clearance of 170mm helps bumpy driving without any hit at the bottom.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) The best in class in terms of space and comfort. 5th person in the back do not feel cramped. The seats are ergonomically designed for comfort seating.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Very powerful engine with a smooth gearshift makes the ride easy. Do not have exact FE numbers but looks like getting more than 20 on highways.
Ride Quality & Handling Electrical powered steering, ABS makes the car very easy and safe driving. Did not felt any turbo lag on highways even with 5 people boarded in the car. Provides excellent ride quality even on a bumpy roads.
Final Words A very good family car to look for and Toytoa Badge definitely will not dissappoint. A very satisfied customer after driving 800kms.

Exterior Good looking exterior with smilling grill. Decent colour quality. However the door quality is not at per with other hatches. ABS and EBD makes it more stable on high speed.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) Well, great space (best in class) and confortable for long journey.
Glovebox is good, nice AC with good cooling power. Extreamly specious but lags seat hight adjustment. Audible engine noise in 1st/2nd gear for some time. Interior plastic qualities are neiter very good not bad. Door pockets are well used to carry 13 1 lit water bottles. Electronic power steering is just awesome.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox Engine performance is very good in city as it has min turbo lag. Engine is more tuned for mileage rathar performance.
I am driving it in Bangalore and getting an unmatched 21.5kmpl in city. I had take it to long drive and got nearly 24kmpl on highway before 2nd servicing.
As engine more tuned for mileage, one should not expect great performance when its on highways. You need to shift the gear up and down in overtaking situations.
Its verry peppy in city and pot holes are well managed. However it has suspension problem in rear as well as front left side. When the car is loaded with 5, it tend to touch the speed breaker. Sometime it makes a loud noise like thuddd! from the left front.
I had complain about this and now toyota has placed a SPECER in the rear suspension. After this the suspension problem seems to be fine. I need to test more to come in a conclusion about the problem. Its free of cost with the scheduled 2nd service.
I am satisfied with gearbox, not much to discuss.
I have driven the car even at a speed of 130kmph, it appeared stable and ride quality is good.
I had taken smile pack from toyota which makes you stop paying money for first 3yrs or 30000km. (its valid for 2yrs or 20k km, this means you have to spend money on 3rd servicing at 30000 km or 3yr whichever is early. This is very good opton which let you feel hasselfree in maintenance front.
Ride Quality & Handling Awesome, pot holes are easily managed by liva, I would request every one to talk to your toyota dealer to fix suspension problem. Once its fixed you will feel real liva rocking the road :)
Final Words It depends on personal choice.
If you are looking for really great mileage, very good specious interior, decent engine performance, comfortable ride with 5 person, easy maintenance then LIVA diesel is the car. You have to manage with some features like teco meter, rear wiper, little dull interiors and some advance features.
Areas of improvement
1. Toyota should try to fix suspension problem.
2. Reduction in engine noise from the cabin.
3. Load the car with some good features.
4. Interior plastic quality.
I hope this will help you all!!

good exteriors with no 1 automobile co in the world ie toyota brand logo, realy liked the simple design of the car, attracts the mature constumers that want simplicity best space with brand like toyota
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)
good features, air conditioning very good, space inside is awesome in this class if u compare to swift, polo. or i20, or ritz
when u sit inside the car it doesnt give u feel that u r sitting inside a smaal car. it feels that u r sitting in a car worth 8 10 lakhs like verna or hona city.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox
have only driven 300 kms yet. its too early to comment, gear box is very smooth.
Ride Quality & Handling
ride quality is very smooth. stearing is very lite, very comfertable driving. the driver seat can be adjusted up & down & is very comfortable to drive.
Final Words
toyota has done a fabulous job & new liva 2013 is a great car & a value for money.
Areas of improvement
toyota has already improved in all aspects by introducing the updated 2013 version by making the dull interiors atractive.

Exterior
The exterior is good except the back side.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)
The interior is very spacious and better than other cars in this segment. It is comfortable for all the 5 passengers even for a long drive. I usually drive from chennai to my native in madurai district for 490kms within 6 hourseven after spending one full hour in chennai traffic. No tiredness and the journey was very smooth always. But, the plastic quality wants to be improved and features needed to be added more.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox
The engine is good in performance. The gearbox is also soo smooth. My Toyota Liva V petrol car is giving me mileage from 18 to 20 kms in highways with full AC(Average Speed 90km/h). In city, it was 12 to 15kms with full AC.
Ride Quality & Handling
It is very smooth to drive this car in both city and high ways. My average speed in high ways is 110km/h. Sometimes crossed 140km/h. The car never gave me trouble. 4 times ABS with EDB system activated and saved my life. The tyre never slipped even for an inch with sudden breaks in that high speed.
Final Words
Safety is important in car. One of my friend's swift desire upset in 100km/h speed and he was dead in that spot itself. But this car never let this happen for me even in 140kms/h. Smoothness Safety, Spacious.......
Areas of improvement
The back side of the car is not looking great.

Exterior
Looks are best; paint finish and polish are top class, lights are brighter than swift.
Doors and side impact beams are very strong and this makes the car the safest in the segment.
Interior (Features, Space & Comfort)
Well balanced and supportive cushioned seats, simple and elegant looking dashboard; classy interiors and matching colours; best in class air conditioner. Lots and lots of space. can comfortably seat 6 people; Loong drives are easy drives in this toyota car. Music system is already in built in the car and is of the best quality 2 Din. There is a cooled box which can refrigerate drinks while you are on tour. Lot of boot space too.
Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox
Best engine; lot of power, balanced pickup; not for a short race. On long drives, its the best and much better than other cars like Ford Figo, Maruti Swift, i20 etc (I have driven all these vehicles for a comparison). Fuel economy is less when the engine is brand new. It improves and goes up as per the use. I get 17 in city with AC for petrol. This shows the quality of the Japanese brand. Gearbox and clutch is very precise and smooth.
Ride Quality & Handling
Best in class ride quality and handling; you never feel you are driving a hatch back. Its almost the same feel as a big sedan car. Perfect balance on straight roads as well as sharp curves. steering is very responsive and smooth. I do continuos drives to Bangalore around 450 Kms with full luggage once in a month with family. The journey is absolutely memorable and pleasant.
Final Words
Toyota is the largest car seller in the world. The old version of Liva and Etios was lacking the fit and finish which the company has re-worked and solved. Now the car is very well balanced and very effective for the price offered. This is the best car for a six member family who drive both within city as well as long drives.
