Super Expensive SpaceshipOn a test drive, the 2025 Tesla Model Y feels smooth, quick and techy, but in India, it’s way too expensive and not really suited for most roads. It’s priced around ₹60 lakh to ₹68 lakh before extras because Tesla imports fully built cars, and steep duties make it much costlier than in the US or China. That kind of price puts it in luxury territory, and many buyers feel it doesn’t offer good value compared with other EVs or SUVs you could get locally for less, especially when service networks and charging support outside big cities are limited. Plus features like Autopilot aren’t really ready for India’s unpredictable road conditions, and the somewhat firm ride and lower ground clearance don’t help on pothole-filled streets.
