Most Underrated and Value For Money Carhave been using the Tata Tigor XZ+ LUX Petrol for a few months now and have driven it over 4000+ km on highways, city roads, and village roads. My usage mainly includes long-distance travel with occasional city driving, and overall the experience has been very satisfying and confidence inspiring. Engine & Performance: Many people say that this car lacks power, but honestly, if you are a mature and disciplined driver, you won’t feel any serious lack of power in daily use. Yes, during quick overtakes there can be a slight delay, but it’s nothing that creates a major difference or makes driving stressful. In fact, the car picks up speed smoothly and steadily, and once you understand its driving style, it feels quite responsive for a family-oriented sedan. Being a 3-cylinder engine, there is some cabin noise and minor gear vibration, and that is expected. However, the advantage is better mileage and lower maintenance, which clearly balances things out for long-term ownership. Ride, Handling & Steering: The steering is one of the biggest highlights of this car. It gives excellent confidence, and the car feels properly planted on the road. On highways, it literally sticks to the road, and many times you don’t even realise you’re cruising at 120–130 km/h because of the stability. Highway manners are truly impressive for this segment. Comfort & Suspension: Suspension is slightly on the firmer side, so bumps are felt on bad roads, but the trade-off is great stability. With 175 mm ground clearance (highest in the segment), I have never scraped the underbody, even on rough village roads and speed breakers. Features & Technology: For the price, this car feels like a full-package offering. Tata has given almost everything you can ask for in this segment: 10-inch floating touchscreen 360-degree camera TPMS Two-spoke illuminated steering wheel Harman Kardon 8-speaker sound system Hill Hold Assist Cruise Control Massive 410-litre boot space (best in segment) Feature-wise, it honestly feels more premium than many popular hatchbacks and compact SUVs. Mileage: Mileage improves with running-in and sensible driving. With the 3-cylinder engine and relaxed driving style, it remains economical and practical for long trips. Build Quality & Safety: The car feels solidly built, which is something Tata does very well. Door weight, overall feel, and highway confidence give you peace of mind, especially when travelling with family. Road Presence & Uniqueness: In a market where everyone is blindly running towards SUVs, the Tigor actually stands out in the crowd. I have personally received multiple compliments from people who didn’t even realise such a car existed. Many have said that if they had known about this earlier, they would have considered it instead of cars like Baleno, Fronx or Dzire. Pros: Excellent highway stability and steering confidence Loaded with features for the price Solid build quality and safety feel Best-in-class boot space Comfortable and practical for long drives Cons: Slight engine noise and vibration (expected from a 3-cylinder) Not meant for aggressive or sporty driving Final Verdict: No car is perfect, and every car has some compromises. The key is to choose a car based on your use case, not market trends. If you are looking for a safe, feature-loaded, stable, and practical compact sedan, the Tata Tigor is an excellent choice.
