Best affordable performance car!
If you've followed the Indian automotive market, you know how scarce proper performance cars are here, and this is totally one of them! The 1.8 turbo producing 150 bhp and 210 N•m as output is like none other. It can be further tuned to ~200 bhp and 250 N•m with ECU remaps. The handling is of a proper fun drivers' car! Not even the Laura RS released later can match Octavia RS' handling with the sports tuned stiff suspension. The comfort levels are decent at best as it is more of a city car than a luxury one. In the used car market, you can easily manage one in between ?1,50,000-?5,50,000 and there's no other alternative in the Indian car market that matches this! NANA

Awesome vehicle.
I have 2005 Octavia rider model. 10,000 k driven. Absolutely feel very silent and smooth. Excellent economy. Excellent comfort. Excellent road stability. Smooth engine. Love to drive.

2013 Frankfurt Motor Show: Skoda Octavia RS displayed

Skoda had their hands full at this year’s Frankfurt Motor Show, with a long line-up from their arsenal, the most impressive of which was the RS variant of the 2013 Octavia. The Octavia was unveiled in India last month with a launch expected early October, and like most other RS variants from before, the Octavia RS is expected to follow the standard variant soon.

Will Skoda discontinue the Laura for the 2013 Octavia?

The 2013 Skoda is just two days away from being unveiled for the Indian market and is one of the most highly awaited D-Segment cars to enter the sub-continent. However, this is the Octavia’s second innings in India as it was previously sold here when the Czech automaker made its debut here in 2001. However, as we all know that eventually the Octavia was discontinued in favour of the Laura (known globally as the Octavia). It has had a long but not very fruitful run. Now there seems to be evidence to support our headline that the Laura is on its way out as its official brochure is no longer available despite still being officially listed on their website.

2013 Skoda Octavia RS to also get station wagon variant

While we still wait for the launch of the all-new 2013 Skoda Octavia, the RS version is set to debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed later this week. Now that we don’t have more questions related to the sedan, we can wait for more details of the station wagon – and as we wait for (may be) the Frankfurt debut, here are few uncamouflaged pictures of the new Octavia Combi RS.
