About the ReviewerDriven ForUnder 500 km12 - From Showroom to Breakdown: My Škoda Kylaq Story Began Within an HourMy ownership experience with the Škoda Kylaq has unfortunately been extremely disappointing and concerning, particularly because the problem occurred within the very first hour of taking delivery. I purchased a brand-new Škoda Kylaq automatic from Mahavir Škoda, Vijayawada, and took delivery on 29 July 2026 at around 7:00 PM. What should have been a memorable occasion for my family turned into an experience I never expected from a brand-new car. What happened on the day of delivery Within approximately one hour of delivery, the vehicle stopped abruptly in traffic and displayed warnings including EPC, Engine Check Lamp and “Start Engine Manually.” A dealership technician attended the vehicle and disconnected/reconnected the battery. Most of the warnings disappeared, but the Engine Check Lamp remained. I was advised to refuel the vehicle. After refuelling and driving only about another 2 km, the vehicle stopped again, with EPC and engine-related warnings appearing once more. My wife, children and I were left stranded for nearly three hours on what was supposed to be the first drive in our brand-new car. Later that night, the vehicle was examined by Mahavir Škoda’s Master Technician. A diagnostic scan carried out in my presence showed fuel-pump-related errors. What concerns me most The issue is not merely whether the vehicle is functioning normally now. My fundamental question remains: Why did a brand-new Škoda Kylaq stop twice within the first hour of delivery? The vehicle was subsequently taken by Mahavir Škoda to its workshop on 1 August 2026. Despite my repeated requests, I am still seeking a clear and convincing Root Cause Analysis (RCA) explaining those two stoppages. I have also requested the relevant diagnostic/fault-code information and PDI documentation so that I can understand exactly what happened to the vehicle. I have been informed that subsequent testing has not reproduced the problem and that the vehicle is ready for collection. However, saying “no issue found now” does not, in my view, explain why the vehicle stopped twice immediately after delivery. My concern is safety and confidence A new car is purchased with an expectation of reliability and, above everything else, safety. After experiencing two stoppages within the first hour—with my family inside the vehicle—it is extremely difficult for me simply to take the car back without knowing the technical root cause. I therefore requested replacement of the vehicle or a refund, because my confidence in this particular vehicle has been seriously affected. I want to make it clear that my intention in sharing this review is not to malign the Škoda Kylaq as a model or Škoda as a brand. This review records my personal ownership experience with this particular vehicle and the manner in which my complaint has been handled. I sincerely hope Škoda India and Mahavir Škoda provide a transparent technical explanation and a fair resolution. For prospective buyers: The Kylaq may have many qualities as a product, but my experience demonstrates why the delivery process, proper PDI, technical transparency and after-sales response when something goes wrong are just as important as the specifications of the car itself. I will update this review once Škoda provides the definitive Root Cause Analysis and final resolution.Rating Parameters(Out of 5)4

About the ReviewerPurchase Not Purchased212 - It’s a fun car to driveIt’s a fun car to drive, with great styling, good road presence, and good interiors. Shocks are an improvement over previous models (Kushaq), but are stiff for Indian road conditions; back seat passengers will complain about this.Rating Parameters(Out of 5)4

About the ReviewerPurchase Not Purchased61 - Simple, Solid and Fun to Drive A Practical Turbo SUV ExperienceI’ve been using the Skoda Kylaq Classic Petrol Turbo Manual for a while now, and honestly, it’s been a good experience so far. The engine feels quite lively once it gets going and driving in the city is comfortable enough. On highways, it performs even better and feels stable. The design is simple but neat, not too flashy, which I actually like. Mileage is okay for a turbo petrol car, though it really depends on how you drive. In traffic, it drops a bit. One thing is, the base model doesn’t come with many features, which might matter to some people. But overall, it feels strong, reliable and nice to drive.Rating Parameters(Out of 5)4

About the ReviewerPurchase NewDriven ForOver 500 km21 - Extraordinary All-rounder, Engaging Drive ExperiencePros: 1. Exterior design is elegant yet SUV-like. You can immediately know from quite far away that this is a Skoda car. IMO it'll age, we'll too. 2. Interiors are plush and spacious. Materials are of great quality. 3. The 1.0 ltr TSI engine, on paper, sounds nothing fancy. But believe me, it's a roaring powerhouse. I have driven many cars, including the Kylaq's competitors like Venue and 3XO, but no vehicle offers the driving pleasure like this one. You'll want to keep driving it more and more, because it's so engaging and fun. It also has a very strong known engine life. 4. Compared to its peers, body roll is minimal, be it during extreme turns or pothole-ridden roads. Its suspension setup is quite good. 5. It has a pretty decent mileage, but may not be the best out there. I'm getting around 12-13 in city traffic (including bumper-to-bumper traffic) and about 17 on highways. But if you start revving the engine like Vin Diesel, then obviously the mileage drops to single digits. 6. The build quality is great. The chassis and the platform on which Kylaq has been built are tested and proven, which reflects in the build. 7. The touchscreen and infotainment systems are also pretty good. They work seamlessly and consistently. 8. The rear boot space is quite large. I personally wanted to have a car with large boot space, and this definitely fits a lot of luggage and leaves space for more. 9. The steering feedback is extremely good. It feels light, responsive, and yet very sturdy on highways. 10. The turning radius of this vehicle is great. You'll not have any trouble maneuvering in high-traffic areas or tight spaces. Cons: 1. The initial thrust of the engine may be a bit (I mean, a very small bit) lacking in power. This shows when there's a lot of bumper-to-bumper traffic. But once it picks up a slight momentum (like a 1500+ RPM range), the engine starts gunning again. This can be managed once you get used to the vehicle and understand its power delivery across different RPM ranges. Wasn't a deal-breaker for me, though. 2. If the persons sitting in the rear seats are hefty or have big body built, then the Kylaq can be best used as a four seater. It's quite tight for 3 big-sized adults to sit. For us, rear seating was not a problem since none of the regular users in our family are of big built, so 3 of us could sit relatively comfortably. 3. I do understand about other students cons of Skoda cars like expensive service costs and spares, but I'm not in a position to comment since I've not yet experienced it. But I've also heard that these have been addressed to a great extent.Rating Parameters(Out of 5)5
