2013 Nissan Terrano

Nissan will launch the 2017 Terrano for the Indian market tomorrow and ahead of the debut the feature list as well as the variant options have been leaked.

Nissan has announced its plans to launch the Terrano facelift on March 27. The new model will offer fresh cosmetic and feature upgrades, while mechanically it will continue to be offered in existing engine options. The Japanese automaker last introduced an AMT version of the Terrano in India way back in October last year and the new model with fresh upgrades is expected to generate fresh interest among prospective buyers.

The Nissan Terrano XV AMT – the top-spec Nissan compact SUV now with automated manual transmission. While we all love our SUVs, we now want them to be convenient and economical and that is where the AMT comes in. The Terrano was launched in 2013 and since then has been largely untouched. A few things did change with consecutive model years but nothing that would stand out.

The compact SUV segment is one that is burgeoning, and everyone that can get in on the action wants in. Premier has the distinction of being the first mover in the segment, but the Rio wasn’t what the Indian consumer was looking for: he wants what is apparently an SUV, with the clearance to go over the worst speed breakers and the suspension travel to deal with the worst potholes but with the comfort and fuel efficiency of a hatchback. Renault’s Duster and Ford’s EcoSport have shown the others how it should be done, and Nissan is going to join the fray with its Terrano.
