
The past week turned out to be a busy one for the Indian automotive industry, witnessing five major launches across segments. These included two new electric vehicles, an affordable MPV, and two premium SUVs. Here is a quick look at the biggest developments.
Tata Punch EV Facelift Launched (Starts from Rs. 6.96 lakh, ex-showroom)
Tata Motors launched the updated Tata Punch EV at Rs. 9.69 lakh, ex-showroom. Offered in Smart, Adventure, and Empowered personas, the facelift brings larger 30kWh and 40kWh battery packs, with the latter offering a claimed range of 468km. The update also includes subtle styling revisions and three new colour options. Additionally, the Punch EV is available under the BaaS program, with prices starting from Rs. 6.49 lakh.
Volkswagen Tayron R-Line Launched (Rs. 46.99 lakh, ex-showroom)
Volkswagen India introduced the Volkswagen Tayron R-Line at Rs. 46.99 lakh, ex-showroom. Available in a single fully loaded variant, the new flagship seven-seater SUV is powered by a 2.0-litre TSI petrol engine producing 201bhp and paired with a seven-speed dual clutch automatic transmission. It is locally assembled and commands a premium of Rs. 1.26 lakh over the Tiguan R-Line.
Maruti Suzuki e Vitara Launched (Starts from Rs. 15.99 lakh, ex-showroom)

Maruti Suzuki India finally announced the pricing of the Maruti Suzuki e Vitara, offering it with and without the Battery-as-a-Service option. The battery inclusive prices start at Rs. 15.99 lakh, ex-showroom, while the BaaS option starts at Rs. 10.99 lakh, with battery rental ranging between Rs. 3.99 and Rs. 4.39 per km depending on the variant. The electric SUV is offered in three variants.
Nissan Gravite Launched (Starts from Rs. 5.65 lakh, ex-showroom)
Nissan Motor India launched the Nissan Gravite at Rs. 5.65 lakh, ex-showroom. Based on the Renault Triber, the Gravite enters the market as an affordable seven-seater MPV. Key features include LED headlamps, an eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless charger, tyre pressure monitoring system, and flexible three-row seating.
Jeep Meridian Track Edition Launched (Rs. 35.95 lakh, onwards)

Jeep India introduced the Track Edition of the Jeep Meridian at Rs. 35.95 lakh, ex-showroom. Available in both 4x2 and 4x4 configurations, the special edition adds cosmetic enhancements such as Piano Black exterior accents, exclusive badging, and 18-inch alloy wheels. The cabin also gets a dual-tone interior theme with suede inserts, contrast stitching, and Track Edition-specific detailing.
