- 2.0-litre turbo petrol with AWD
The long-anticipated Volkswagen Tayron has been teased by the German automaker ahead of its India launch, which is expected to take place next month. Set to be positioned above the Tiguan, this will be the return of a three-row vehicle, and it is expected to be assembled in India at the automaker's Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar plant.

The Tayron is expected to be offered with the Tiguan's 2.0-litre 201bhp/320Nm petrol motor paired with a seven-speed DSG system. AWD comes in as standard. It is expected to get the same features as the Tiguan, but with additional elements for the third row. The Tayron spans 200mm longer than the Tiguan, but has the same dimensions as the Skoda Kodiaq, its sister car.
This will be Volkswagen's new flagship SUV for India, and it is expected to be offered in the price range of Rs. 48-52 lakh. It will go up against cars like the Skoda Kodiaq, MG Gloster, Hyundai Ioniq 5, Toyota Camry, BYD Seal, and the BYD Sealion 7.
