Volkswagen India has commenced pre-bookings for the Tayron R-Line ahead of its official launch in February 2026. Customers can reserve the flagship SUV for a token amount of Rs. 51,000 through authorised dealerships and the brand’s online platforms.
The Tayron R-Line will mark Volkswagen’s entry into the premium seven-seater SUV space in India. In terms of design, the Tayron gets HD Matrix headlamps, illuminated front and rear logos, R-Line specific styling elements, and 19-inch alloy wheels. The SUV will be available in seven exterior colours including Dolphin Grey, Oyster Silver, Ultraviolet, Cipressino Green, Nightshade Blue, Grenadilla Black, and Oryx White.

Inside, the cabin features a 15-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, head-up display with augmented reality, and a panoramic sunroof. The front seats offer 12-way electric adjustment with memory, ventilation, massage, and lumbar support. Other highlights include a 700-watt Harman Kardon sound system, three-zone climate control, gesture-controlled tailgate, and 30-colour ambient lighting.
Powering the Tayron R-Line, is a 2.0-litre TSI petrol engine producing 201bhp and 320Nm, paired with a seven-speed DSG automatic gearbox and all-wheel drive. Volkswagen claims a 0 - 100kmph time of 7.3 seconds and a top speed of 224kmph.

With bookings now underway, Volkswagen is set to lock horns with Skoda Kodiaq, Toyota Fortuner, Jeep Meridian, and the upcoming MG Majestor.
