- 2.0-litre TSI petrol
- Will be joined by five other models in CY26
Prices for the Volkswagen Tayron will be announced in India tomorrow. This is the German automaker's new three-row flagship SUV for the Indian market, and it is being offered in one fully loaded version with turbo-petrol power. Bookings opened on 5 February, and we have also driven the Tayron R-Line.
Exterior highlights of the Tayron R-Line include the new Volkswagen exterior design, 18-inch alloy wheels, and eight different paint schemes unique to the Tayron. Inside, you get dual-tone black and beige interiors with three rows of seating, where the second and third rows can be folded down for additional storage space.

The feature list is pretty comprehensive, with things like three-zone climate control, dual digital screens, Level 2 ADAS, powered front seats with massage and ventilation, powered tailgate, connected car technology, and a full LED light package. Powering the Tayron is the automaker's 2.0-litre TSI petrol, producing 201bhp and 320Nm of torque. The engine is mated to an eight-speed AT, and it also gets 4Motion AWD technology as part of the package.

We expect the Tayron to be priced in the range of Rs. 48-55 lakh, putting it in the thick of things against the Skoda Kodiaq, MG Gloster, MG Majestor, and the Toyota Fortuner. Its launch will be followed by five more vehicles, two of which will be facelifts for the Taigun and the Virtus.
