- Could come to India by 2028

A nearly undisguised Volkswagen ID.Cross has been spied doing the rounds. This is the first time that the car has been seen with this level of camouflage removed, and there are quite a few details that have been revealed in these images.

The images indicate that this ID.Cross will look far more conventional than the current crop of VW EVs. The era of making bombastic electric cars is expected to be passé for VW and its larger family integration, for which VW is one of the pioneers, and is expected to be the route of the future. Design highlights visible in the photos include a new LED light bar below the front VW logo, teardrop shape for the headlamps, conventional three-box silhouette, and connected tail lamps that are a signature VW look.

Our spy sources revealed that the car was sporting an all-black interior with dual screens on the dashboard, all indicative of the VW design language. It is expected to offer up to 450km range, and will also get AWD/4MOTION on at least one higher-spec variant. Could it come to India? In this exact guise, it seems unlikely. But what it does indicate is a design direction that VW will take for the Taigun and an EV SUV within the next few years.
