- Minor upgrades to the luxury SUV
- Improved safety tech expected
Mercedes-AMG is working on a second facelift for the GLE mid-size SUV, and we assume that the decision to prolong the lifespan of the model is a result of the ongoing debate about the end of the internal combustion engines in Europe and elsewhere.
We have seen images of the prototypes for the facelifted GLS. What is clearly visible is the new set of inner graphics of the car’s front and rear lamps, reminiscent of the three-pointed star. The same set of updates are expected for the relatively smaller GLE.
We only anticipate a few cosmetic changes to the front and the inner graphics of the lamp units. These minor changes could be completed by a small makeover of the interior, coupled with updated safety assistance systems, and a revised infotainment system, including bigger screens. Since the EURO7 exhaust regulations have recently come into force on 1 January and an even stricter EURO8 is not on the cards yet, we do not expect further changes under the bonnet.
