Introduction
Volvo unveiled the XC90 facelift in September last year for the global market and is set to launch it here soon. It gets a revamped exterior in line with the EX90, and updates to the internal design with new features and tech. Here's what we can expect from the revised version of the brand's flagship SUV.
Exterior
The fascia of the upcoming XC90 boasts a redesigned grille, new headlights with T-shaped DRLs, and a revised air dam. The proportions of the SUV remain identical to its existing iteration. Since this is a facelift, not a lot of changes have been made to the side and rear profile, except for minor tweaks.
Interior
The updates inside include a larger touchscreen infotainment system, while the interior layout and design bear similarities with the existing version. The centre console now gets extra storage space, and the car is expected to get a few ergonomic upgrades. Moreover, the SUV will feature Frequency Selective Damping technology this time, so we can expect a tweaked suspension setup as well.
Powertrain
The international model of the Volvo XC90 facelift carries forward the same 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine. It comes with either a 48V mild-hybrid tech or a plug-in hybrid system. Now, the PHEV version would be more interesting, as it comes with an 18.8kWh battery pack with an EV-only range of 70km. However, the variant-wise availability and launch date of the revised flagship SUV will be revealed soon.
