Toyota has taken the wraps off the all-new Land Cruiser FJ, a new addition to its legendary Land Cruiser line-up. The relatively compact SUV will make its public debut at the Japan Mobility Show 2025, with a market launch in Japan planned for mid-2026.
Built on a platform refined from Toyota’s IMV series, the FJ promises true go-anywhere ability with wheel articulation comparable to the 70 Series and an impressive 5.5-metre turning radius thanks to a shorter wheelbase (270mm less than the Land Cruiser 250).
Powering the new FJ is a 2.7-litre, petrol engine, paired with a 6AT gearbox and a 4WD system. It produces 160bhp and 246Nm of torque. The prototype measures 4,575mm long, 1,855mm wide, and 1,960mm tall, with a five-seat layout. Toyota says the FJ has been developed through extensive off-road testing, and gets structural braces and high body rigidity. It will appeal to enthusiasts looking for a compact, capable, and personal take on the iconic Land Cruiser series.
With the new FJ, Toyota continues to evolve the Land Cruiser legacy, the one that has spanned over 70 years and 12 million units worldwide.
