Top five SUVs offering maximum discount in March 2019

The Indian automotive industry has witnessed a shift in consumer behavior with a strong demand for SUVs. This has prompted major car manufacturers to introduce a fresh lot of SUVs for the Indian market. Wider SUV options and end of fiscal year targets have encouraged some of the leading car manufacturers to offer heavy discounts across their product line up in the country. Here below are the top five SUVs offering a maximum discount in March 2019.

Renault Captur

As part of Renault's March Celebrations for crossing the five lakh customers’ milestone, Renault India has announced benefits of up to Rs 2 lakhs across India, except Delhi and NCR which get benefits of up to Rs 80,000. The benefits are applicable to 2018 model year and this also includes cash benefits on select variants. Renault Captur has been a slow-selling product for the company in India. The new offer for March is likely to boost up the sales for the vehicle.

Jeep Compass

The entry-level product from Jeep, the Compass is available for a discount of Rs 60,000 along with special offers for fourth and fifth-year warranty at an introductory price starting from Rs 25,000. The SUV is available in a 1.4-litre petrol and a 2.0-litre diesel engine option. The recently introduced Tata Harrier has emerged as a strong competitor to the likes of the Jeep Compass in India.

Ford EcoSport

Ford EcoSport is available with a cash discount of Rs 25,000 along with exchange benefits of Rs 15,000. Additionally, the company is offering a third-year warranty as a loyalty benefit. The EcoSport is available in 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engine options. There is also a 1.0-litre petrol variant on offer. Although a good product from Ford, the EcoSport sales have been affected with strong sales for the Vitara Brezza and Tata Nexon in the country.

Mahindra TUV300

Mahindra TUV300 is available at a cash discount of Rs 35,000 along with an exchange bonus of Rs 15,000. The compact SUV from Mahindra is powered by a 1.5-litre diesel engine and can be had in manual and AMT options. The TUV300 has been drawing decent sales from the rural market, however, the sales from the urban market have not been too impressive. The recently launched XUV300 has emerged as a popular choice in the urban market.

Honda BR-V

Honda’s seven-seat SUV, the BR-V had initially drawn a positive response from the potential buyers. However, over time the company witnessed a drop in sales due to lack of features and expensive pricing. The vehicle is available in 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engine options. In an effort to boost its sales, Honda also offers an exchange bonus of Rs 50,000 along with accessories worth Rs 16,000 and first-year comprehensive insurance.
