Top 10 pictures from the CarWale Track Day 2019

It’s that time of the year again. We braved the 45C track temperature, got up close to the cars and spent some time throwing them around the corners in a controlled environment. Yes, we are talking about the 2019 CarWale track day and here is our pick of the 10 best pictures shot by our photographer, Kapil Angane, over the course of the two day experience.

Maruti Swift Vs Tata Tiago JTP-Budget friendly pocket rockets
We begin with the Maruti Suzuki Swift and Tata Tiago JTP, the smallest cars in the Track Day, but easily the most fun and affordable duo to drive around on the track. The Swift is a legend while the Tiago JTP is Tata’s first dedicated try at an affordable hot hatchback.

Tata Nexon Vs Mahindra XUV300 Hitting the apex (from the first floor)
SUVs have become hot potatoes these days and the Tata Nexon and Mahindra XUV300 are the flavours of the month that you can buy in India today. Here is the duo exiting a corner while duelling each other on the track in a bid to achieve SUV race track glory.   

Honda Civic Vs Skoda Octavia-Hello from the outside
We first showcased the hatchbacks, then the SUVs and now, well here is a duo of sedans. In this case, both the Honda Civic and Skoda Octavia were diesel powered and produced surprising lap times. Here Kapil has captured the Octavia making a pass on the Civic from the outside.

Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG-Blazing glory
Do you see the sun in this picture? It’s large, produces incredible amounts of power and makes you feel alive in its presence. Well, so is the Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG. It’s very large, has a mighty big V8 engine and will make you feel alive every time you mash the throttle.

Mercedes-Benz AMG GT Roadster-Office space Affalterbach style
The Mercedes-Benz AMG GT convertible was the hero of our Track Day and here is its HQ, as designed by the geniuses from AMG’s home town of Affalterbach. There’s leather, carbon fibre and so many buttons to make the car do your bidding in so many different ways.

Volkswagen Vento TC-4 touring car-Airtime action
Our list of cars comprise quite a wide variety of machines but one that stands out is the Vento TC-4 touring car. It’s raw, fast, loud and capable of letting you lift a wheel in the air if you go fast enough around a corner.

Mercedes-Benz AMG GT Roadster -Sibling of the Beast of the Green Hell
Almost the beast of Green Hell but with a drop top. Well that’s actually what the AMG GT Convertible is - a sibling to the Nurburgring conquering AMG GT R. However, it’s nothing short of a thunder storm on the track, thanks to its massive 469bhp V8 engine and tuning from the boys at AMG.

Volkswagen Vento TC-4 touring car - A one-man show
This is the inside of the Vento Touring car. As you can see, it has got a roll cage, battery and only one seat! Yes, glory in the race is for one person only and for that, there is an OMP seat, multi-point harness and multiple sensations which would drive you nuts if you weren’t prepared.

Tata Tiago JTP-Department ID card
Just as many companies have specific ID cards for specific departments, we would like to believe that this is this car’s department ID card. JTP is Tata performance brand in collaboration with Jayem automotives and we believe that JTP will soon become synonymous with affordable performance cars.

Here you go. This year's class that participated in the 2019 CarWale Track Day. There’s a wide variety of machines across price brackets and combined performance to drive anyone wild and well, that’s what a track day is ultimately all about.
