Three new car launches in India next week

The month of September will begin with three new car launches in the country. One is for customers who are keen on buying ultra-luxury features, while the other two are for customers looking out to own a safe and feature-loaded premium hatchback or a sedan. Read below to learn more about them –

    Volvo XC90 Excellence Lounge Console

Volvo XC90 is due to get a premium variant, called the XC90 Excellence Lounge Console on 3 September. As opposed to a regular four-seat layout on the XC90 Excellence variant, the new variant will get a three-seat layout. We believe that the upcoming model will be available in limited numbers and the front passenger seat will be replaced by a new unit that will house a storage compartment, large pop-out touchscreen system and rising leg rest. The Volvo XC90 Excellence Lounge Console will continue to be powered by a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine that is turbocharged as well as supercharged. This engine is paired to an electric motor that produces a combined power output of 401bhp and 640Nm of torque. Transmission duties are handled by an eight-speed automatic transmission.

    Volkswagen Vento and Polo facelift

German car manufacturer Volkswagen will launch the updated version of the Polo and the Vento in India on 4 September. The Volkswagen Polo facelift will receive a new front bumper and grille inspired from the GTI, with the former housing a trapezoidal air dam and fog lamps. A few other updates on the model include a blacked-out spoiler, dual-tone rear bumper and redesigned tail-lights.

The Vento facelift, on the other hand, will get chrome strip on the boot lid as well as on all four doors. Feature additions common to both the models include new 10 spoke alloy wheels and blacked-out elements such as the ORVMs and the B-pillars.

Mechanically, the Volkswagen Polo facelift will continue to be powered by the same set of engines, which includes a 1.0-litre and 1.2-litre petrol motor, and a 1.5-litre diesel motor. The Volkswagen Vento facelift too will continue to be powered by the same set of engines that include a 1.6-litre and a 1.2-litre petrol unit, and a 1.5-litre diesel unit.

Apart from the above-mentioned cars, Tata might launch the Harrier Dark Edition in the country next week. The special edition model will feature grey headlamp bezels and has black interiors with contrast grey stitching. The Tata Harrier Black Edition is expected to be available in the top-end XZ trim. The vehicle continues to be powered by a 2.0-litre Kyrotec diesel engine that produces 138bhp and 350Nm of torque. This engine is paired to a six-speed manual transmission.
