Gordon Murray is about to pull the covers off another supercar, and if his track record is anything to go by, it is unlikely to be just another fast car. Gordon Murray Special Vehicles will unveil its latest creation at The Quail during Monterey Car Week in California on 14 August 2026, with Murray himself and three-time Indianapolis 500 winner Dario Franchitti hosting the reveal.
The new supercar joins an increasingly exclusive stable that includes the T.50, T.33, T.33 Spider, S1 LM and the Le Mans GTR. Murray, of course, is no stranger to rewriting the supercar rulebook. His most famous creation remains the McLaren F1, a lightweight, naturally aspirated V12 icon that now fetches millions of dollars in auctions.
His modern-day answer to that philosophy is the T.50, another V12-powered, driver-focused supercar built around low weight and an obsession with involvement. It was followed by the track-focused T.50s Niki Lauda, and then the more road-focused T.33 and T.33 Spider.
More recently, Murray unveiled the S1 LM, limited to just five examples. It features a bespoke 4.3-litre V12 producing 720bhp, while one example reportedly fetched a staggering $20.6 million at auction last year.
The new car will take centre stage at The Quail alongside the Le Mans GTR XP1 and several customer-owned T.50s. And considering every Gordon Murray programme announced so far has sold out, expect this one to disappear from the order books rather quickly.
