Tesla, has officially revealed to the public, its new Gigafactory outside Las Vegas, Nevada. This new facility when completed, possibly, by the middle of next year will be their most important facility as it will produce batteries for their range of current and upcoming vehicles.
In his master plan, Elon Musk, CEO and founder, had revealed that Tesla would eventually be producing compact SUVs, trucks, sedans and even minibuses to assist in public transport.
He has said that to make their cars more cost-effective and appealing to a larger buyer base, they would need to make one of its most expensive parts much cheaper and this is where this factory comes in. It will produce the Lithium-ion batteries that will power the vehicles.
