- Will also spawn an ICE version
- Showcased at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025
Nearly four years after the first Sierra concept was showcased, Tata has officially confirmed that the Sierra range will be launched in India in FY2026. The automaker has formally stated that the car will initially arrive as an EV, followed by an ICE version.
Sierra Highlights
Tata showcased the Sierra EV in the near-production guise at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025, and yes, it did include a modern interpretation of the SUV's iconic glass roof. Some other major highlights include pop-out door handles, new Tata face with a massive DRL running the width of the car, dual-tone alloy wheels, and roof rails.

While the outside will be a radical departure from the usual Tata design, the cabin will be a standard affair with elements like the dual screens, touch-sensitive centre console, seat design, four-spoke Tata digital steering wheel, ADAS, and 360-degree camera. The EV and ICE versions are expected to share their feature list with the Harrier EV and the Harrier, respectively. Having commonality with the Harrier means a 2.0-litre diesel, 1.5-litre TGDi petrol, and whatever powertrain option the Harrier will receive when it is launched on 3 June. This is Tata’s second revival in terms of its classic brands, with the first being the 2021 Safari. It is expected to cash in on Tata’s 30 year-old and multi-generation buyer base, many of whom would have grown up with cars like the original Sierra, Safari, and of course, the Indica.
