The new Tata Sierra has made a strong return to the Indian market, registering over 70,000 confirmed bookings on the very first day of opening order books. In addition to this, Tata Motors has revealed that close to 1.35 lakh prospective customers have already submitted their preferred configurations and are in the process of completing their bookings.
The company attributes the demand to the Sierra’s blend of nostalgia-driven design, modern features, and multiple powertrain choices aimed at a wide set of buyers.

Commenting on the milestone, Vivek Srivatsa, Chief Commercial Officer at Tata Passenger Electric Mobility, stated that the response reinforces the Sierra’s legacy while also validating its role in creating a new premium mid SUV category. According to Tata, the new Sierra has been developed with a focus on improving space, comfort, safety, and everyday usability, while retaining the identity that made the original model iconic.
The Tata Sierra was officially launched on 25 November 2025, with prices starting at Rs. 11.49 lakh and going up to Rs. 21.29 lakh, ex-showroom, depending on the variant and powertrain. Deliveries of the SUV are slated to begin from 15 January, with Tata expected to ramp up production to meet the strong demand.

Powering the Sierra are three engine options. These include a 1.5 litre diesel engine, a 1.5 litre TGDi Hyperion turbo petrol motor, and a 1.5 litre naturally aspirated petrol engine.
In the market, the Tata Sierra takes on established rivals such as the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Toyota Hyryder, Maruti Suzuki Victoris, Skoda Kushaq, Honda Elevate, and Volkswagen Taigun.
