The 2026 Tata Punch EV has secured a five-star rating in Bharat NCAP crash tests, assessed in May 2026. The tested variants were the Adventure 40 and Empowered Plus S 40, and the rating is applicable across all six variants of the Punch EV covering both the 30kWh and 40kWh battery pack options in the lineup.
In Adult Occupant Protection, the Punch EV scored 31.09 out of 32. Breaking it down, the car returned 15.28 out of 16 in the frontal offset deformable barrier test and 15.80 out of 16 in the side movable deformable barrier test. The side pole impact test was also cleared. On the Child Occupant Protection front, the Punch EV scored a maximum 45 out of 49, with a CRS dynamic score of 24 out of 24, a CRS installation score of 12 out of 12, and a vehicle assessment score of 9 out of 13.
Standard safety equipment fitted across all variants includes electronic stability control, side head curtain airbags, pedestrian protection, and seat belt reminders for all seating positions. ISOFIX anchorages are available on the outboard rear seats.
In the context of its segment, the Punch EV's AOP score of 31.09 is a competitive result and comfortably among the stronger showings in the compact electric SUV space. The rating covering the full range of variants from the entry-level to the top-spec also means buyers need not compromise on safety regardless of which variant they choose.
The ICE Punch was also crash tested under the Bharat NCAP program earlier this year scoring 30.58 and 45 points in adult and child occupant protection, respectively.
