Tata Motors has officially launched the petrol-powered Harrier in India, with prices starting at Rs. 12.89 lakh and going up to Rs. 24.68 lakh, ex-showroom. The SUV is powered by the brand’s new 1.5-litre Turbo GDi petrol engine, marking an expansion of the Harrier’s powertrain lineup.

Under the hood, the new turbo petrol engine produces 168bhp and 280Nm of torque and is offered with a six-speed manual and a six-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. Tata claims segment-leading fuel efficiency for the Harrier petrol, with the manual version also entering the India Book of Records for maximum fuel efficiency achieved by a petrol SUV over a 12-hour drive.
The Harrier petrol is offered in multiple variants including Smart, Pure X, Adventure X, Adventure X Plus, Fearless X, Fearless X Plus, Fearless Ultra, and Red Dark editions. Both standard and Dark editions are available with manual and automatic transmissions.

Feature highlights include a 14.5-inch Neo QLED touchscreen, Dolby Atmos audio, digital IRVM with integrated dual dashcam, memory ORVMs with auto-reverse dip, panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, and Level 2 ADAS. In terms of safety, all Harrier petrol variants have received a five-star Bharat NCAP rating.
With the introduction of the petrol engine, the Tata Harrier now offers buyers a choice between diesel and petrol powertrains.
