Tata Motors has launched the Adventure X version for its flagship SUVs, the Harrier and the Safari. While both models share the same DNA, there is a big difference when it comes to the space, seating layout, and of course, the prices. Let’s take a good look at these special edition models.
Price Comparison
The Harrier Adventure X is priced at Rs. 18.99 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi), while the Safari equivalent starts at Rs. 19.99 lakh. That’s a Rs. 1 lakh premium for the Safari, which also comes in a slightly more feature-packed configuration for this version.
Common Features
Both SUVs are built on Tata’s OMEGARC architecture, derived from Land Rover’s D8 platform, and underpinned by a 2.0-litre diesel engine. Shared features include ADAS with adaptive cruise control, surround view camera system, trail response modes (Normal, Rough, Wet), powered seats with memory and welcome function, digital displays for the instrument cluster, and much more.
Design and Interior Differences
The Harrier Adventure X features 17-inch alloy wheels and black leatherette seats with tan accents. In contrast, the Safari Adventure X rides on 18-inch wheels, and its interior is finished in oak-inspired tan colour.
Practical Considerations
The Safari’s higher price reflects its larger dimensions and seating flexibility, making it a better fit for bigger families or those who often travel with more passengers. The Harrier, being relatively smaller, offers slightly easier manoeuvrability in the city.
If you are after a five-seater mid-size SUV with lots of features and road presence, the Harrier Adventure X might be the one for you. However, if space, seven-seat configuration, and added flexibility are your priorities, then the Safari Adventure X justifies its Rs. 1 lakh premium.
