Tata recently launched the 2025 Altroz, and one of the big additions to the car is an AMT option. The highest variant you can get this option with is the Creative S, priced at Rs. 9.65 lakh. Matching it price-for-price is the fully loaded Maruti Baleno Alpha AMT, priced at Rs. 9.92 lakh. Which one should you pick? Here are some facts to help you choose between the two.

The AMT Game
The Tata’s engine is a 1.2-litre petrol producing 87bhp and 115Nm@4400rpm, while the Baleno’s is also a 1.2-litre petrol producing 88bhp and 113Nm@3250rpm. Both engines are offered with a five-speed automated manual transmission. This is the first time Tata is offering an AMT for the Altroz, while oddly enough, this is also the first time Maruti has put an AMT for the Baleno family.

Features Fight
This is the top-spec Baleno and thus gets features like a 360-degree camera, HUD, climate control, wireless phone mirroring, rear AC vent, button start, wireless charger and a full LED light package. The Altroz in this Creative S variant gets a 360-degree camera, rear AC vents, button start, ambient lighting, paddle shifters, cooled glovebox, dual digital screens and an electrically controlled sunroof. When looking at their features, we can see that the Baleno gets alloy wheels and an HUD while the Altroz gets dual digital screens and, of course, the sunroof. In terms of safety, both cars get six airbags, ABS with EBD, ESP and ISOFIX child seat mounting points.

Dimensions
Both cars are evenly matched in terms of dimensions with only minor differences in terms of width and wheelbase. The interior space too is very similar, but the Altroz has a bigger boot at 345-litres as compared to the Baleno’s 318-litres.
