- More stringent testing protocol
- Offered with a 4WD drivetrain in Australia
The Australia- and New Zealand-spec Suzuki e Vitara secured a four-star rating in Australasian NCAP (ANCAP) crash tests. This unit is built in and exported from India. These scores differ from the five-star Bharat NCAP rating, given the more stringent ANCAP protocol. However, these crash test mules have a Euro NCAP logo, and it is noteworthy that ANCAP integrates Euro NCAP results as part of a shared protocol.
The e Vitara scored 77 per cent in AOP (Adult Occupant Protection), 87 per cent in COP (Child Occupant Protection), 79 per cent in VRU (Vulnerable Road User) protection, and 71 per cent in safety assist assessment. Here’s a breakdown.
AOP
31/40 points; 5.59/8 in frontal offset deformable barrier, 6/6 in oblique pole, 2.17/4 in rescue and extrication, 6.35/8 in full-width frontal, 3.89/4 in whiplash protection, 6/6 in side impact, and 1/4 in far side impact tests.

- In the frontal offset test, driver chest protection was marginal, and passenger chest protection was rated as good.
- In the full-width frontal test, driver chest protection was rated weak, and the rear passenger’s head and chest protection was rated marginal.

- Side impact and oblique pole tests gave good protection ratings across the board.
COP
43/49 points; 16/16 in front dynamic, 12/12 in restraint installation, 8/8 in side dynamic, and 7/13 for onboard safety feature tests.

All body regions across all scenarios were rated as good. However, the Suzuki e Vitara misses out on a CPD (Child Presence Detection) system.
