SsangYong last revealed the XAV concept at the Frankfurt motor show way back in 2015. This time around the automaker has revealed the XAVL (eXciting Authentic Vehicle Long concept), which is indeed inspired by the classic Korando model from the 1990’s. The upcoming seven seat vehicle will be available in petrol as well as diesel engine options.
The automaker has not revealed technical specifications or feature details for the upcoming model yet. However, SsangYong states that the XAVL concept will offer ample interior space for the occupants along with a set of safety aids for the driver, passengers as well as the pedestrians. It is to be seen if the XAVL concept might be offered as a replacement to the Korando or might be a whole new model.
In terms of design, based on what can be seen, the vehicle gets bold and aggressive lines that gives it a muscular identity. The front wide long grille that connects to a long sleek headlamp unit along with a large bumper that houses LEDs and foglamps. The rear also sports a bigger bumper that complements the sleek and long tail lamps. As for interior, the XAVL is expected to feature premium upholstery, likely to be in all-black and touchscreen interface with smartphone integration. The vehicle is not expected to be launched sometime soon and it is likely to be launched sometime by 2020. The concept version will be showcased at the upcoming 87th Geneva Motor Show which is due to be held next month.
