Skoda India has confirmed that the Slavia facelift will be officially launched on 18 August. The updated mid-size sedan is expected to arrive with a refreshed exterior, feature additions, and a meaningful mechanical update.
On the outside, spy shots of test mules have already revealed the broad direction. The headlamps get revised LED internals and the tail lamps get a reworked design, while the front grille is expected to feature integrated lighting elements broadly in line with the styling introduced on the updated Kushaq and the Kodiaq. Front and rear bumpers are likely redesigned as well, and a new set of alloy wheels is expected to round off the exterior updates.
The interior is expected to largely carry over its existing layout, but a larger digital driver's display similar to the unit in the Kushaq could be on the cards. Revised seat upholstery, front parking sensors, and the possibility of a rear-seat massage function are also anticipated. Existing equipment including the 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment, single-pane sunroof, wireless charger, eight-speaker audio, automatic climate control with rear vents, six airbags, and TPMS are all expected to continue.
The most notable mechanical update is expected on the 1.0-litre TSI petrol engine. The current six-speed torque converter automatic is likely to be replaced by a newer eight-speed automatic unit, the same gearbox that debuted on the Kushaq facelift. The 1.5-litre TSI is expected to continue with the seven-speed DSG.
The current Slavia is priced between Rs. 10 lakh and Rs. 18.19 lakh, ex-showroom, and a modest price revision is expected with the facelift. When launched, it will continue to go up against the Volkswagen Virtus, Hyundai Verna, and Honda City.
